as the new TE coach. He was the TE coach with the Vikes from 2006 to 2013 and was let go when Frasier was fired.
From ManAss Former Vikings TE coach Jimmie Johnson (2006-2013) is expected to join Todd Bowles' staff as the new Jets TE coach, I'm told. #nyj

He's developed guys like Kyle Rudolph and Visanthe Shiancoe.
Would like to see what he can do with Amaro

Seems like a solid hire. Can't find anything negative about him.

It's also something that he can easily work on. And it's not like Ebron, who was a Top 10 pick, fared any better. Amaro has still shown the ability to fight for the ball in traffic, is pretty damn good in space with nice YAC ability, and his skills as a blocker are really underrated. Hopefully Gailey gets him more involved. Cumberland should be cut fucking yesterday.

Isnt Rex Hogan the director of college scouting? Yeah you're right my bad. Apparently Smith hasn't even been hired - just rumors.

Seems like a solid hire. Can't find anything negative about him. Only thing I can see is his name. A johnson wearing a jimmy hat. Best I can do on short notice, folks.

Shaping up nicely.
Looking at Danna's job title, I'd expect us to add an assistant DBs coach with primary responsibility for the CBs.
Also, this hasn't been confirmed, but I believe Ron Heller has been retained as assistant OL coach. He is the only one of last year's coaches who is still listed on the team website.

Its a first time in a long time that I feel good about the coaching staff.

Its a first time in a long time that I feel good about the coaching staff. While I mostly agree, we have to wait and see. I don't want to get too excited. In fact, I think the jury is out on Chan Gailey after being out of football for two years and Patullo who has never been a QB coach before. Those are probably the two most important coaches on the staff given that our offense and QB have been the biggest problems on this team. Again, I'm positive on the direction but let's not pick up the boner pants at the dry cleaners just yet.

The guys I'm most happy to see, and who I think should give us great confidence are Bowles, Mike Caldwell, Pepper Johnson and Bobby April.
