Can someone on the twitter tweet this article to Important People? It's the most definitive proof I've seen that this is a huge fucking deal, as important as videotaping used to be in helping the Cheats secure wins. And coincidentally, look when it all started...right after Spygate, to the season. The media discussion on deflation tends to humor the possibility that the lopsided outcome of the Colts game somehow mitigates the damage done. If accurate, the findings in this article completely shift the narrative to the fact that the Deflatriots have had this obscene advantage since 2007 (!), while simultaneously exposing that no, not "everyone else is doing it."
Damn, I'm going to have to learn to tweet if no one tweets this to Goody. Somebody please.
Otherwise he'll just deny he knew about it, like with Rice.

The true test here will be next season. Pats fans will contend the statistical difference is due to BB's obsessiveness during practice in relation to ball security. However, if they come back to the pack next season, then it is proof positive they've been playing with an under-inflated ball since spygate.

We might have won one or both of the games against the Pats this season, since we lost both of them with a combined total of only 3 points.

We might have won one or both of the games against the Flats* this season, since we lost both of them with a combined total of only 3 points. That had more to do with the fact that the Jets choked(trademark of a Rex Ryan team) then about deflated footballs, though. But I see where you're coming from.

We might have won one or both of the games against the Flats* this season, since we lost both of them with a combined total of only 3 points. If you look at the past seven years and discounted the pats records where cheating may have been the difference between winning and losing then you really have to wonder how many times the Jets could have been on top of the division and in the playoffs and how many 8-8 and 9-7 seasons the pats may have had.

Can anyone still not access the original site? Yup, Roger and Kraft are hard at work. The "maintenance" (destroying the evidence) will take about an hour to complete. Under Maintenance We are currently performing maintenance on this server to improve its capacity. We are working as quickly as possible and expect that this maintenance will take about an hour to complete. Thank you for your patience!

Superb article. Throwing is NOT the only advantage to an under-inflated ball! New England plays with a nerf football:

Based on that analysis it appears the patriots actually lose far less fumbles than other teams. I wonder if their high recovery rate us in any way related to an under-unflated ball which has less "bounce" and is more easily grabbed by the fumbler?

Ex-Pats QB: most like throwing with less air January 24, 2015 By The Associated Press
RENTON, Wash. (AP)?- The NFL is investigating whether the New England Patriots used underinflated footballs during their AFC championship game victory over the Indianapolis Colts. But what advantages does a deflated football hold for a team? Former NFL quarterback Hugh Millen, who played two seasons for the New England Patriots and now helps designs footballs for manufacturer Baden in Washington state, explains.
ADVANTAGES OF DEFLATION
NFL rules mandate that a ball must be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch. But a football deflated a couple of pounds below the range is softer, allowing for better grip, Millen said.
"If you're going to be challenged to handle the ball in either very cold conditions or wet conditions, then having the ability to grab the ball and squeeze it, you're going to have more of a chance to remain in contact with the ball," he said.
Deflated balls could also mean faster balls thrown by quarterbacks. Because of the softer grip, the index finger remains on the football a tad longer, allowing for faster spirals during a throw, especially for quarterbacks who like to keep their fingers on the seams, Millen said.
"We know from having put a football in wind tunnels, the faster the ball rotates, the more it cuts through the air. It has less drag, therefore more velocity on the ball," he said, adding later, "most quarterbacks like to have less air than more air."
HOW COULD THE REFEREES MISS IT?
Referees inspect game balls about two hours before the game, checking the air pressure among other standards. NFL guidelines are clear: a football cannot be tampered after the pre-game inspection.
While veteran officials could probably feel a difference between a properly inflated ball and a deflated one, referees aren't thinking about ball air pressure during the game since they've already checked them, Millen said. They're busy trying to move the game along.
"If they're not of a mindset to check the ball, they're not engaging their senses," Millen said, adding that some may be wearing gloves.
POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS
In his years in the NFL, Millen said it was common for quarterbacks to ask for balls to be deflated, within the league's acceptable range, if the footballs felt too hard for their preference. It takes just a couple of seconds to lose 2 pounds of air pressure after inserting a needle. A team equipment staffer could have been careless.
"I've seen somebody say, 'Hey, stick a needle in there for a second just to get the air right,'" Millen said.
Another possible reason: footballs can sometimes leak air. Millen said all football manufacturers produce balls that lose air pressure without tampering. But he adds that would be an easy possibility to test.

And coincidentally, look when it all started...right after Spygate, to the season. The media discussion on deflation tends to humor the possibility that the lopsided outcome of the Colts game somehow mitigates the damage done. If accurate, the findings in this article completely shift the narrative to the fact that the Deflatriots have had this obscene advantage since 2007 (!), while simultaneously exposing that no, not "everyone else is doing it." This! After reading the data (sorry Pats trolls but the data doesn't lie), that was the very first thing that came to my mind. Outside of NE, the overwhelming majority of AMericans believe NE cheats. I read that NBC's Today show had a poll with more than 80% agreeing the Pats cheat and legacy is tainted -- something we all have known for years. I will say it again, pre-Spygate 3 SB trophies. Post Spygate: 0. While I think Seattle will win, if any given Sunday is the outcome it will not matter. NE's, and a large portion of their fans agree, appearance in this year's SB is tainted. The whole world knows it and I am so satisfied that finally the NE whores in the media have taken them to task basically calling Belicehat and Tammy liars. Unfortunately, the biggest ongoing travesty is the handling of this case by the NFL. With the whole world watching, Goodell is doing his best to cover Kraft's ass. The NFL came out on Monday and said this would be reolved in a matter of days -- 2 or 3. Well, we are into day 6 and just get a statement from the NFL, really? You would think Goodell would use better judgement given how much his credibility was questioned just a few months ago that garnered national headlines calling for his job. Ooops, my bad. I forgot, his boy Kraft saved him. Now it is payback time -- you wash my back, I will wash yours. If Woody and the rest of the NFL owners allow this to stand and continue, shame on them. Woody better get his head out of his ass and chime in. The integrity of the game is at question and your franchise plays these cheats twice a year. Stop the silly dance with Mitt Romney and focus on the Jets! It is ironic how Kraft doesn't spend nearly as much time salivating over the former MA Governor and instead is focused more on Goodell trying to gain every advantage for his club even if it is cheating or having the rules changed. Woody, wake up!!
