He's better then most FA options, no? Who do you want, Locker? Guy hasn't played a full season ever.

Did you watch him last season? He wasn't good. Outside of a handful of games in Chicago he's never been good.

I can see him going to the Ravens to back up Joe Flacco. Trestman is their OC now so he might want to follow him.

no way, jose. He's been less than serviceable for most of his career. The key fit the lock in Trestman's system, but that's more of anomaly than anything.

I get my McCown's confused. Is this Luke or Josh? I know that one of them sucks and the other one . . . also sucks.

Neither of those guys (not named Geno Smith) even made the Official VTN QBR list www.newyorkjetshampur.com/thread/1778/official-vtn-qbr-listI'd probably put McCown in the "overstayed their welcome" category, and Blake Bortles? I think needs a whole new category - "QB's with a name too stupid to be in the NFL".

There's a reason why guys like Heath Ledger, Blaine Gabbert and Kelly Stouffer were absolute busts. Never had a chance.

For fans of a team who haven't had a QB in 8 years you're all very picky. This is the perfect guy to come in and compete for the starting job. There is nobody else out there in FA that has had his success (as limited as it may be). Plus he played on a terrible team last year. He got sacked 36 times in 11 games last year, that's horrific offensive line play and he had no running game. I would expect the Jets to be in on him with also the Bills, Titans and Texans. He would have a chance to compete for the starting job on any of those teams. Plus I'd rather the Jets not take a QB in the 1st round this year unless Winston falls to 6, which isn't going to happen. I'd like a playmaker at 6 on offense or defense and I don't believe in Mariota in a pro offense.

No matter how you slice it, he's a mid 30's, I think, QB who was no better than the guy we want to replace. And Geno in his defense is a second year player who in theory should improve. McCown played worse than he did in his short success a year earlier. Signing him does absolutely nothing for this tesm. I would take a chance with either Winston or Mariota in a second. Not doing it would be reckless
