The corner position. Can't kill him for Cro, there were whispers that he was a risk due to the injury he had. Can't forget he really sucked his last year with the jets. The killer was signing that piece of shit Patterson to a contract and being dumb enough to try and sell us on the move. Try to tell people he was a good player and a replacement for Cro.
The other issue I had with him is his disregard for a players history. Thinking players who are always hurt will magicaly become iron men after he brings them in.

12 picks in one of the deepest drafts in recent memory. 12!!!! And we didn't even attempt to trade a single one for leverage even when players were on the board that would clearly have helped us out. That whole draft was just awfully handled, from hoarding picks to a safety in the first to no major WRs to our top CB pick being an injured project...ugh. Half the guys aren't even on a team right now. Fucking accountant trying to be a GM, surprised we didn't try hire a cashier as the head coach. To think I ever defended this guy.."In Idzik we trust"

I lost faith in Idzik during the pre-season. We lost Milliner and McDougle on teh same day in training camp and then Patterson goes AWOL a week or two later and he did nothing to get an experienced corner. He allowed us to go up against GB, Detroit & Chicago with Antonio Allen, a converted safety and Darrin Walls who had never been anything more than a 4th CB.
I didn't like the draft - was left scratching my head over many picks, but was still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in May. By the end of August, the benefit of the doubt was gone.

missing on Bruce Ellington and Martavus Bryant in the 4th. That round was an f'n disaster. And those two were well publicized prospects. We got Jalen Saunders and Shaq Evans. WTF?

The Jets hired a GM who gave new meaning to the term "backed into a corner" -- FML

Signing Patterson after not landing Davis or DRC, then and not drafting Brandon Cooks are mine

imo it's all about forcing geno to be the starter. who knows how things would've turned out had sanchez not gotten hurt but it was plenty obvious that geno wasn't making much progress after year one. signing vick could've worked had vick been there to push for the starter's job but he was told early on what his role was. after that what idzik didn't do by not resigning howard and not replacing colon are inexcusable. the jets have had problems scoring points for the past 6 seasons. it was plenty obvious that the qb situation needed fixing and failing that the oline. idzik fixed neither. if last years team scored a measily 3 points more per game they would've finished 8-8 so it wasn't a defense problem. sure, the corner situation didn't help but scoring 17 ppg helps even less.

Combo of DRC/Davis leaving without a deal - and botching the the WR draft of the century.... that's pretty much what you get paid to do as a GM and he failed on both fronts. That'll get you fired.

There are so many good ones, it's so hard to choose just one to top them all! Idzik gives himself strong competition!

Not even trying to sign revis after he was cut by TB close second: the WR's he drafted and/or did not draft last year It seems he hit on the only two busts out of the entire batch of drafted WR's last year I agree here, this was an opportunity to immediately close down two receivers. The level of play we had last season at CB was horrible, even when we double teamed others best receivers they beat us. I hate to say it, but if we sign Revis I think Ryan is still on board, there were way to many close games we're had we had a more solid CB crew the score would have been different. Now I hate to give one player that much credit, but we just sucked at CB and Revis I think would have changed the whole dynamics.
