That's the premise of his article today. Says it would be a no brainer for the Jets.
Eagles get the 6th pick
Jets get:
Foles 2015 1st and 2nd rounders 2016 1st and 2nd rounders
I can't see the Eagles giving up that much....so he's right....it's a no brainer.
But I see no chance of this happening.

Seems to me that if Kelly really wants Mariota he would try to get ahead of us -- more likely look to move up to the Raiders spot at 4 (assuming he won't want to deal in division with the Skins). Not sure he would want to let us get on the clock with Marcus still on the board.

If the Eagles want Maiotta that badly, why would they wait to give a big offer to a team that needs a QB? Wouldn't they make an offer to a team drafting before us?

Seeing that the Jets are in need for a QB, and that Philly and Kelly really like Mariotta, why in the world would The Eagles wait for the Jets pick to make the deal to trade up. Wouldn't they look to get in front of the team that needs a QB? All of this is wasted talk, Mariotta doesn't get past 2 anyhow.....with either The Titans taking Mariotta, or the Titans passing on him, and making the trade down themselves.

Not sure he would want to let us get on the clock with Marcus still on the board. If he want to move up to get Mariota he more than likely has to trad with us. He needs to use Foles as part of the package, giving picks and a starting QB. Raiders don't need Foles, that package would be a lot less value to to the Raiders who don't need a QB. Never mind the higher pick needs more thrown in to trade out of 4 over 6.

The Eagles first and second in 2015 and 2016 is enough to move up to the Raiders spot at 4.

We need a starting QB, that would be a huge part of the deal otherwise why trade out of a spot where we might find one? Secondly the 4th and 6th are not the same value, especially if you devalue the worth of the package by including a player the Raiders will cut as soon as his contract is up. This package only makes sense if you want Foles as your QB. Regardless, I think this is a total bullshit bored media creation. They see Chip Kelly Oregon connection, hypothesize that he would go after Mariota and look for a trading partner. They're working the deal backwards, off a match, not out of fact.

Eh... people are acting like the Eagles pick is in borderline top ten. You have to think the Raiders would be dropping 16 places in this draft (outside of most of the elite blue chip players' ranges) to pick up an lower extra #2 this year and what will likely be a lower 1st rounder next year as well. (ditto for the #2). It's not really a mind blowing deal if you ask me. Especially since the Raiders aren't exactly flush with young elite talent to afford passing on a high pick this year.

I know this is pre combine pre free agency pre draft silly season and every talking head and beat writer are expressing their expert opinions, but I don't see Mariota falling to 6 no way that happens. I don't see Philly moving all the way up to 6 from 20! I can see if Mariota fell out of the top 10 which he won't, not that I like Mariota but some teams are going to want to take a shot at him no doubt. I would be shocked if he made it to 5 and if he does I think the Skins would take him at 5 depending on what happens in free agency of course. Mehta and all these parasites r just stirring up sh*t. Just my opinion.

The point is that Eagles could offer enough value to the Raiders and NOT have to include Foles in the deal. Makes no sense to trade Foles right now.
