Foles represents little in trade value in an overall trade up package. The Eagles first and second in 2015 and 2016 is enough to move up to the Raiders spot at 4. Eh... people are acting like the Eagles pick is in borderline top ten. You have to think the Raiders would be dropping 16 places in this draft (outside of most of the elite blue chip players' ranges) to pick up an lower extra #2 this year and what will likely be a lower 1st rounder next year as well. (ditto for the #2). It's not really a mind blowing deal if you ask me. Especially since the Raiders aren't exactly flush with young elite talent to afford passing on a high pick this year. True, I don't think this trade will ever happen. I was just making a point that IF the Eagles wanted to trade up they could do so without including Foles in the deal, and do it with a team other than the Jets.

You guys do realize who wrote this article, right? Exactly, next week after the combine he will write an article stating that the Jets are now looking to make a "blockbuster" deal to move UP in the draft.

I would think without Foles they would have a hard time getting the Raiders to move. The Eagle pick as mentioned is kind of low, 20th is not amsexy spot to be in. Plus raiders have a good shot at Cooper where they sit, someone who makes huge sense for them. Still a total Mehta piece of nonsense presented as fact.

They don't need Foles which is why I said the deal makes no sense to the Raiders earlier. Should have read with Foles here. The deal is picks and a starting QB, something that doesn't give the Raiders the same value as a team, like the Jets, who need one has been my point.

If the Eagles want Maiotta that badly, why would they wait to give a big offer to a team that needs a QB? Wouldn't they make an offer to a team drafting before us? Agreed...unless the jets call philly and tell them if Mariotta is available then we can make a swap.

i'd jump at that deal if i were the jets. that would yield 3 potential starters more than keeping the first pick and a qb to boot. geno can get planted on the bench where he belongs and learn the game. and foles is young enough so that if he does well, he could be a really good qb for the jets for the next few years.

This is the most ridiculous made up story that has absolutely no legs and never did. I tweeted Mahta last night and asked if he just makes shit up in his ass and pull it out when he has nothing left, which is all the time. Of course no response. The is no rumor, it is totally made up with no basis and we have already given this shit bag story teller two pages.

Here is the latest I saw on rotoworld:
Appearing on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, the Philly Inquirer's Jeff McLane stated that he expects the Eagles to try to move up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota in the draft.
This isn't the first we've heard of Chip Kelly's love for his college quarterback. "Unless I'm missing something here," said McLane, "the Eagles are going to do whatever it takes to get him." Acquiring Mariota would likely cost the Eagles most of their 2015 draft class, but would be well worth it if Mariota solves their quarterback problem. Philadelphia currently holds the No. 20 overall pick. They'll likely have to get into the top five, jumping the quarterback-needy Jets at No. 6.
The point here is that the Jets are in a great spot. If the Eagles choose to trade up in the top 5 they will have to give up a massive amount of compensation. Only way the Jets can strike a trade is if they initiate the call to the Eagles making an offer. If they choose not to do so then the Jets can still pick an impact player at #6.

A move like that would surely make a guy like Cooper fall to us.... We win either way IMO.....

Look out for the Skins at 5 as a possible trade partner with the Eagles....perfect opportunity to recover some picks from the RGIII trade......
