Guys....Mariotta isn't getting past The Titans pick......They'll take him or someone will trade up to get Mariotta at 2 These conversations are crazy. This league has guys like Geno and Cassell starting....Mariotta goes 2 even with his "warts" because he gives teams hope Not so sure about that. I just can't see the Titans taking him. They have a serviceable QB in Mettenberger and they have so many other holes to fill especially on the defensive side of the ball. I can really see them taking Leonard Williams or even Dante Fowler here. The chance of Mariotta dropping down to 6 are very real here unless a team like the Browns who have 2 1sts try to move ahead which will probably force the Eagles to package their whole draft. Shit is going to be crazy!

I keep preaching this......why in the world would the Eagles let Mariotta make it to us if, IF he falls at all....on top of that, why wouldn't the Jags/Raiders/Skins make the deal instead of us?

Consider that the cost of trading up higher than 6 goes way way up in a hurry. Add to that the probability that the Jets will demand fewer picks than the other teams will because the Jets would be the only ones who want and are willing to take Foles. Philly could start Sanchez until Mariotta is ready and preserve a pick while at the same time unloading Foles who will be an UFA after this season. I could see Kelly thinking that he might as well trade Foles now to save a 3rd round pick because Foles is gone after this season anyway.

I see Mariota going in the Top 4....I'm just not sure if it's a team with a current Top 4 pick that takes him (i.e. I foresee a trade up). If both Winston and Mariota are gone very quickly that's actually a positive in a way because it pushes 4 great players at positions other than QB to us. We'd likely be on the clock with at least one of Dante Fowler, Amari Cooper or Kevin White still on the board. And ANY of those three guys is an immediate upgrade to our team and a Day 1 starter.

It's important that we don't take the DLine for granted. It's been a strength of the team for 2 or 3 years but it would be easy to turn it into a weakness again. I think Bowles, much like Rex, likes to be "multiple" on Defense and we'll see various alignments including 3-4, 4-3, etc. With Mo, Snacks, and Richardson we have a solid 3...but we need depth and we need to know what the Line looks like in a 4-3 arrangement. Does anyone think there's a chance the Jets look to move Coples back to the DLine? I'm not sure that the OLB experiment has worked and Coples excelled as an inside pass rusher even though his build doesn't seem ideal for it.

Completely agree. I see Mariota going second to the Eagles. The Titans have a ton wholes they could fill this year and next with the Eagles ransom. 2 firsts, 2 second's and 2 thirds it will more than likely take that much to go from 20 to 2. If that cannot get them to 2 then they deal with the new guy in Washington, who also has wholes and no picks thanks to the RGIII trade.

49ers got a good deal with Dockett. Thought he was worth more than that even with the injury. He only missed 2 games in 10 years before that.

Don't get me wrong I think Sheldon Richardson was a beast and totally worth it, but Coples could have been a good 3-4 DE. To this day I consider that to be one Rex's most annoying moves. He really thought he was some sort of savant that could turn Coples into a DE/OLB monster, when everything about the guy screamed 3-4 DE/4-3 DT [3-tech].

The Eagles would have to trade in the top four to get Mariotta before the Jets. There is virtually ZERO chance that the Skins would trade their #5 pick to a division rival to give Chip Kelly his franchise QB, and have to face him twice a year....
Two will be too high, I could see oakland trading to the Eagles.
Conspiracy theory: Jets FO are telling the Eagles they will "100%" trade the #6 pick if Mariotta is available, just to get Philly to not trade with a team in the top 5, then we take Mariotta and tell the Eagles to kiss their ass...genius hahahaha

Jets met with Cary Williams. He's now flying to Tennessee to meet with the Titans. Apparently the Seahawks and Jets are hot for him.

Jets interested in Chiefs' defensive back Ron Parker.

Ron Parker, S, Kansas City Chiefs
A former undrafted free agent out of Newberry College (yes, Corey Washington's Newberry College) Parker was little more than a reserve cornerback and special teams player for Kansas City until this season, getting only one start in three years. In 2014, however, Parker started 15 games -- four at corner and 11 at free safety. That is a type of versatility that could make him attractive to the Giants, and other teams.
The Kansas City Star believes that Parker "should probably be a full-time safety" and expects him to seek $6 million or more annually. Which the Star does not expect him to get.
SB Nation's Arrowhead Pride had this to say about Parker:
What he did for the Chiefs in 2014 was help eliminate the big plays that were such a problem in 2013. He did a nice job at safety in that regard, which was probably the biggest improvement in the Chiefs defense last season.
