linkI'm glad to hear this. Colon needs to be replaced. I wonder if the fact that they're going after RG's in free agency means Aboushi will be starting at LG. He played pretty well for a guy seeing his first action in the NFL.

Willies a local guy seems like a good dude, if I got into a bar fight I'd want him to have my back, but those penalties man!!! Some of them so horrific and at the absolute worst time.

Our O-line had a terrible year, the whole lot of them.

Our O-line had a terrible year, the whole lot of them. Eh...I thought Mangold was pretty good considering who he was surrounded by.

Willie Colon led Guards in the NFL with 14 penalties (2 others declined). That's crazy. Dude was average at best and was a penalty waiting to happen.

I like it. One way to build a team through FA is to bring in guys who are 25-28. These guys are still entering their prime and have some upside. Signing 30-33 year old guys to 3-5 year deals is a recipe for disaster. I want the Jets to give some long term deals out to guys who are mid 20's and have upside. Doing that and drafting well is how you can still keep cap flexibility and stay competitive for years to come. Guys like:
Worlds Cobb Maxwell Torrey Smith Carpenter Boling Franklin
Among others.

I'd cream pants if we brought in both Boling and franklin. Absolutely cream. Add Kareem Jackson, one wr and a Mo extension and its a huge success

Definitely need to upgrade the Offensive Line. I'd be looking to groom Brick's replacement soon as well as Mangold. Those guys just weren't the dominant players that they used to be. I never really thought Brick dominated anything other than at pass blocking (Top 5 player I'd say in that regard). He's always left something to be desired in the run game. Either way, we're talking 10 years in the league for those guys now. Gotta start grooming their replacements. We're very close to having a terrible offensive line and last season showed that in spades.

Correct about taking Willie to a bar fight, but the Jets need an upgrade. To my knowledge Willie never bitched, caused trouble in the organization, and was a good locker room guy. Nothing personal, the Jets just need to get younger. Hopefully the upgrade will have Willie's nasty attitude, tempered with some good judgment, and fewer penalties.

Our O-line had a terrible year, the whole lot of them. yes and no. yes they had their struggles but no in the sense they had to hold the blocks for far too long while geno was thinking about which defender he was going to throw to. the bottom line is the qb play had a large influence on how they looked. but i do agree that colon is pretty much done and giacomini just wasn't as good as howard.

That's great both of those guys are huge upgrades... But i'd much rather have Mike Iupati over either of those 2.
