Patrick Peterson got $28 million his first year of his new contract. I could be too high on the signing bonus. Peterson only got a $15 million signing bonus. So it could be more like $18 million signing bonus for Revis which would make it $31 million the first year. Puts it on par with Peterson and the inflation of the cap this year. Petersen only got 16.25 in the first year of his deal, 15.3 was SB the rest was his 2014 salary. You're right, I was looking at 2015 for some reason. The Jets don't have to structure it the same way the Cardinals did b/c they have so much cap space and have to spend a lot of cash this off-season.

Powell must be nuts if he wants to follow Rex. Look how effectively Rex and Co used Powell last year, with his 2 or 3 carries per game.

I would be very careful front loading too much money for Revis. Unless he has changed his ways and changed his agent, giving too much in the signing bonus and first year salary could be a problem a couple years from now.

Well they can satisfy that by putting in that clause again that states if he holds out then another 3 years at a low base salary gets added on to his deal. Or something like that. You're going to have to overpay to get him here, same with a lot of the free agents.

Rich Cimini @richcimini 4m4 minutes ago Jets hoping to sign a free-agent safety. KC's Ron Parker is a name to watch

Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley or Duke Johnson will fill in for Bilal nicely.

What's the word on Iupati? Depends on which Jets beat writer you believe. Some think the Jets will be involved, others don't.
