Kaepernick is the most overrated player in the nfl imo. Everybody thinks he's great (jaws thinks top 5 of all time) yet I think there are 20 qbs I'd rather have. Geno is awful but I think I'd rather have him honestly! Guy is a one read pony. Once the first guy he sees is covered he takes off. Terrible terrible quarterback.

You consider amaro or Kerley better than 1/2 the guys at their position? I don't. And the reason he had mostly vets was because he couldn't develop anyone. Any team would prefer to develop their own. When you can't, you bring in vets who are typically expensive and limit your flexibility under the cap. I partially agree but even Coach Bill Walsh couldn't teach Stephen Hill to catch a football. We spent tons of picks on defense and had very little "talent" to develop on offense IMO. We all know that Rex doesn't know an offense from a picketed fence, but let's be real. The Jets had an entire staff of OC, position coaches, offensive quality control, etc. and that didn't seem to work either. I don't think Bill Belidick taught Tom Sparklepony to throw a football. The fact of the matter is that we need to place real emphasis on drafting young offensive talent and then develop it. If Geno has another bad year do we blame Todd Bowles or Chan Gailey?.......I'd probably blame Geno Smith. Belidick didn't teach Brady to throw the football, but he probably taught him to play QB in the NFL. If Brady had Rex as his coach, I don't think he ever becomes "Tom Brady". There are late round picks and free agents all over the league that are above average players. To not have one in 6 years with a variety of offensive coaches is an indictment on the head coach.

Want nothing to do with him and I'm really glad we didn't even entertain the idea.

I don't think you can credit Belidick with Brady's performance. In fifteen years the pats have developed no other QB into a QB who has been even remotely successful. We'll see what happens with Mallett but it's hard to imagine the pats dumping a backup QB and immediately drafted a new QB if he was so successfully developed in NE.

Agree. He definitely has the physical tools. He needs help on the mental part of the game. Problem has been that his head coach did not know how to develop offensive talent. In 6 years, he didn't develop one young offensive player to become above average at his position. Not one. Hopefully the new coaching staff will give him the development support he needs. kerley? amaro? in all fairness to rex his offensive players were mostly vets or free agents. and you can't teach stupid. Has Kerley really developed into a better player than he was coming into the league? Moreso than the improvement he would see playing several years in the league? I'm not sure I would agree his development should be credited to Rex.

The guy was drafted in the sixth round; nobody wanted him. And you're not going to give the head coach credit for helping him to become one of the best QBs of all time? If Rex had drafted him, he would have had a 7-10 year career as a backup QB, would be selling insurance right now and would never have even heard of Giselle. But like all of Rex's other players, he'd love to go out drinking with Rex and would have played for Rex anytime .................. as long as Rex's team gave him the most money.
