Yesterday I wasn't so sure, today I want the Jets to sign him. He can really make an impact with this defense and young secondary. Yes, we've been through it with this player, the holdouts, the winning with the Pats, but I'll give him the benefit of doubt and say he is just being a businessman. The bottom line is he is still one of the best defenseive players in the league and arguable still the best CB, he can teach MacDougle the ropes, he can help young safeties learn what it takes to be a pro.
All this being said, if the Jets make a reasonable overture towards him and he goes back to the Pats he is absolutely now one of my most hated players in the NFL. C'mon back Darrelle!

My wounds have heeled, the charges were dropped and those police visits seem so long ago".

I'd be fine with him coming back on a short term cash deal. Say 2 years in the mid teens per year, but my fear is that they get suckered into a long term big cap money/bonus contract for a 30 year old player.

He'll probably get a 4 year deal with 3 guaranteed, with the Jets financial situation I think I could live with that...

I don't get that logic though, what is the real benefit of paying Revis 15M per year for the next two years? So when the Jets are actually ready to make a deep playoff run we have to go through this whole process of signing Revis again? If you are going to sign him, then sign him and structure it as a long term deal, otherwise Revis will just hold you hostage again when the team starts winning.

5 years, $80M, $48M guaranteed in the first 3 years.
Get it done. We don't need to worry about his play declining over the next few years - his game is based on technique, preparation and hard work rather than pure speed.
Even turning 30 this year, Revis has easily 3 to 5 years left as an elite level player.

He's a mercenary, nothing more nothing less. Not like he has an particular affinity for NE or any other team. He goes where he gets paid. If you treat it stricly from a business point of view, it makes sense.

People keep saying this but it's not true. He's biunced nowhere. The Jets traded him. The Bucs dumped him and the Pats signed him for one season. He hasn't moved anywhere on his own. its not quite the same as Deion

Buncha *Pats commenters on Comcast NE, are hoping he will give Belicheat a hometown discount OR NE will pay huge coin to get him to stay by 4pm today. They don't think he'll look around. They don't know Mevis, do they? If he stays true to form, Mevis will go with the highest bidder.

They won a Super Bowl and now they think Revis will give them another discount?? Those NE fans are a funny bunch, Revis wants to be paid.
