If he says he wants to move back, it really means he wants to move up.

Lol Mac just gave the most in depth 3-4 OLB scouting procedure ever.

Lol Mac just gave the most in depth 3-4 OLB scouting procedure ever. He went on for ages and apologised at the end, no biggie. He's very enthusiastic when talking about scouting which is a good thing.

Thanks - didn't listen to the presser (should be able to do that on the Jets app when I am heading out from work tonight), but its hard not too like the guy right now. He seems like he ks knowledgeable, thorough and pretty straightforward and forthcoming. At least as straightforward and forthcoming as anyone is inside a week of the draft. Hopefully I will still feel the same way by the end of next weekend and during the season.

Idzik had me with his first press conference before the draft (sustainable success and all that) but Mac has me more confident just from a football knowledge standpoint. Finally.
Oh and this too..
We'll find out soon enough.

I really would LOVE Beasley though, this guy is the perfect fit for what Bowles does on D. Even though scouts say that he might have trouble stopping the run on the next level, we know he can rush the passer and has the athletic ability to drop back in coverage. With the right coaching staff, which we def have, this kid can develop all facets of his game. On top of the security he would have with probably the best DL in football. Its a no brainer to me!

Translation: No way the Jets are taking a passrusher if Mariota or Cooper are on the board.
I'm totally fine with waiting on a passrusher. This defense is so fucking awesome up front and in the secondary that it wouldn't surprise me to see someone like Pace put up 10 sacks this season.
If both of the QB's are gone and someone like Cooper is sitting there at #6, then you take him and welcome him with open arms.
Now, if both of the QB's are gone AND Cooper...then I think you look into a passrusher.
But personally, I'd probably say fuck it and take Gurley in that scenario.
I love a lot of the DE/OLB's slated to go in the 2nd-4th round. Harold, Orchard, Odighizuwa, Kikaha, Mauldin, Golden, Hunter, etc.
But I can't say the same for WR. A shitload of them are going to start flying off the board at the end of Round 1/very early Round 2.

You can also tell he has a high football acumen which fills me with confidence, I could listen to him talk about scouting all day.

But personally, I'd probably say fuck it and take Gurley in that scenario. I can't argue with that (and I really want Gurley to go to a team where I can root for him), but I don't see it as a realistic option. If we were really thinking Gurley as an option in the first, I can't believe we would not have brought him in for a visit so our docs could take a look at the knee.
