Yeah, doesnt really answer the question. If this term is used... .... its a cherry picked stat IMO. Its a tiny sample size. Did they have 1000 3rd and long snaps or 3? Totally different outlooks. And who's saying hes the next coming of God? He just needs to be top 6 this year. And if the Mo money situation goes south over the next few years, we'll all be happy we drafted him. Im copyrighting that "MO MONEY" It's like an insurance plan to screw Mo

But if he wants HUGE money.... insurance is good. Keep the pipeline filled, keep stocking the pond.

I have to agree with VTN. If Rex was still here I think people would be losing their minds and not being very trustworthy of the pick.
I nearly lost my mind today. I started laughing like a lunatic. "This is a joke! This has to be a joke. They're trolling us." That was literally the last position on the Jets that needed another body, let alone the #6 pick of the draft.
I can understand people disliking the pick. And I don't think it has to do with whether the guy is going to be the next great player. We already have starters that are considered among the best at their positions on our team. We have depth as well. It's a head scratcher. I expected the pick to be Kevin White or Todd Gurley. I would have bet a lot of money/anatomy that the Jets wouldn't draft another DE/DT... if purely for the PR aspect.
But hey, the pick is in. It's not going to change. The kid dominated at his position. And quite frankly our defensive line didn't exactly give me boners last season. In fact I hated our defense. They were a bunch of big talking, soft acting, roll overs. They got run all over and pushed around. Remember that one set of plays where they literally just ran the ball repeatedly down our throat? Yeah, I don't want to see that anymore so if Leonard Williams helps that then I'm all for it. Quite frankly I like Snacks but I don't think he does anything special for us other than being a big, cheap body. He's not an automatic starter that can't be upgraded IMO. And I think Coples sucks so there's that. He's to taking Tom Brady's smug ass to an early retirement. Let the fro go!

granted the team doesn't need another dline guy this season but with wilk's talks going the way they are and the way teams play hurry up more often having dline if only for depth makes sense. and maybe white was that much lower than cooper to just him out of being in considertion at the 6 pick. and all of the so called edge rushers just seemed to be a little small. we'll see what the other rounds bring. and there's also the possibility that either wilk or williams will be traded for more paicks in later rounds.

First round defense since 2010. Best player available. Again. (and it's a lot more obvious who the good/elite player is at 6 vs 9 or 13 or 29) Tried to trade down - couldn't. Again. But it's all good. Right? Someone please tell me what's different. SOJ and SOJ draft pick. I'm sure he'll be a beast, but DE is our strongest position. Should have taken White. Reminds me of last year when we were screaming for a WR in the 1st and they take saftey. Some were defending "Idzik's plan". That didn't turn out so hot and Cooks or Kelvin Benjamin should have been the pick there. They better take a WR with that 2nd round pick. Morons.

I think having Brandon Marshall, a #1 WR, eliminated the need to force a way overrated White at 6. IDK why people think Marshall will only be here a year. This dude is coming off 3 straight 100 rec years up until last year where he was a little banged up. He's got 3 years left of top play in my opinion. The bigger need for be is RB. We have no RB's under contract after next year. I wouldn't mind Tevin Coleman with our 2nd round pick or Yeldon in the 3rd. I think if Strong and DGB are there you have to think about it and I would lean towards DGB the more I think about it. That wouldn't have been my answer last night but he has too much upside to pass up.
