The thought of Wilkerson, Williams, and Sheldon just body slamming QBs and RBs has me wanting to wear my boner pants. Getting ready for the WWS Monday Night RAW! Role the dice with Randy Gregory....get him on the field with those guys and an in-the-box Calvin Pryor, Coples pass-rushing from OLB with David Harris and Demario Davis thumping in the middle?....sickity sick sick! IF A PASS happens to get out of the QBs hands it will be fun watching Revis and Cro run them back for TDs.

Cooper was gone. Mariota was gone. I think most people thought LW would go to Jacksonville. Can't hate the pick. I don't like the idea of rotating players around, especially the 6th overall pick... it comes down to him being a great pick but how do you get all of these guys on the field? Someone isn't going to get snaps. Does this make us better? It definitely makes our bench better. But I'm not sure who we would have gotten at that point that could make as big an impact either. I liked Gurley there, I was ok with White there, after that... nothing really stands out to me. Gurley is a guy that people are worried about with toughness and durability, especially with his running style. White is a gamble for sure. He tried to sell himself with his mouth more than his play on the field this offseason I think. Too much talking. Leonard Williams is hands downs the pick vs those guys. High upside, consistent production, looks great on film, has the measureables... We might not be very good on offense but I really don't see how anyone can play their offense against us either. We're gonna be in some games this year... the ugly kind of games. Bring it. I like that kind of football. I hate giving you the credit, but great post. Nailed it.

Also, has there been a lot of talk about how the Jets went with BPA despite having a glut of players at the position compared to the Giants (we draft BPA like it's our birthright) over-reaching for Flowers as a need pick?

This is football. People can and will get injured. If he is 3/4 of what people say he is, this pick was a no-brainer.

I didn't like any of these Qb's which is our biggest need. Although we need a good Rb I would never spend a 6 pick for one especially coming of ACL in a Rb rich draft. Bolster our strength which is D fine with me keep the bleeding to a minimum, go Wr in 2 continue to build the O we have to be patient in finding the Qb. This Williams seems like a character too, hopefully he will help wake the stadium the fuck up. Agreed. If they come out of the 2nd and even 3rd rounds with a WR and an OT, I wonder if people's perspectives change? Cause right now they are in a spot to get one or the other at the top of round 2. they still have that guy shaq evans and a couple of other idzik holdovers who may yet get on the field. the big issue for the offense will be qb play. if genot plays like last season it will be a very long season. but here's to hoping that he will play well enough and not give any games away. and who knows what rounds 2, 3 and 4 will bring.

A bunhc of mocks had them picking Flowers, Peat was still available, so obvioulsy they valued Flowers over him

Of course their perspecitves will change but it's giving credit for a hypothetical. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. And what if they don't?

A first rounder for a sixth rounder? Sounds about right

Also, has there been a lot of talk about how the Jets went with BPA despite having a glut of players at the position compared to the Giants (we draft BPA like it's our birthright) over-reaching for Flowers as a need pick? A bunhc of mocks had them picking Flowers, Peat was still available, so obvioulsy they valued Flowers over him And most would agree both were a reach at #9 and that they only made sense due to need. They clearly deviated from their BPA philosophy and drafted for need. Mark Eckel, NJ.com Grade: B The Giants didn't grab the best player available. They filled a need, and sometimes that backfires. Bryan Fischer, NFL.com Grade: C+ Flowers has tremendous ability and upside, but the team might have reached a little bit with this one. He'll certainly fill a need on a team that badly needs to upgrade along the line, but Flowers will have to refine his technique sooner rather than later. At least Eli Manning will be happy the Giants upgraded their pass protection. Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN.com Grade: Instead of grades, Kiper judged his picks by whether he liked it or questioned it. He put Flowers in the latter category. I actually had Ereck Flowers to the Giants in my mock draft, I just didn't love the value here at No. 9 overall. I had Flowers at No. 27 on my Big Board, and that's because there's plenty of projection left. The Giants are looking for a solution at right tackle that would help them at guard as well, and Flowers will be under pressure to make sure that plan comes through. Pete Prisco, CBS Sports Grade: B+ The Giants needed help up front. This is a kid scouts loved. He is tough and physical. I think he plays right tackle and moves Justin Pugh inside. Chris Burke and Doug Farrar, SI.com Grade: C Miami's Ereck Flowers will definitely add a lot of power to a Giants offensive line in some turmoil and allow the planned move of Justin Pugh to right guard, if that is how they want to go. The 6'6", 329-pound Flowers may be the best overall run blocker in this draft class—he fires out with authority, and he loves to bully people around. The problem with picking him this high is that Flowers's pass protection is very much a work in progress. His kick-step is choppy at best, and he can be beaten by speed rushers to either side. With some technique work, Flowers could be a complete tackle, but NFL teams don't take linemen in the top 10 to let them develop. He'll be starting right away, and he may struggle to keep Eli Manning protected early on. Dan Kadar, SB Nation Grade: C+ The only reason this grade is this high is because Flowers is a perfect scheme fit in New York. He's a power blocker who could stick at left tackle or even work at right tackle for the Giants. Still, this is really high for a player who has struggled at times in pass protection and is raw in his technique. Giants general manager Jerry Reese always hammers home the best player available point, and it's hard to see Flowers being that at pick No. 9. Walterfootball.com Grade: B So much for Mel Kiper's assertion that no offensive linemen were worth taking at No. 9. Ereck Flowers is definitely worth the selection, and I'm not just saying that because he's a reader of the site. Flowers was the best pure tackle prospect in this draft, and I had him going No. 10 in my mock draft, so the range definitely makes sense. Flowers also fills a big need, as the Giants had to protect Eli Manning, who has been battered and bruised the past couple of seasons.

Hopefully Todd figures out how to use this glut of DLmen better than Rex did. Coples is really expendable now. People point out how Sheldon was a redundant pick but look how great it worked out - not really. He's a great player but Coples became the fifth wheel, now what is he, sixth?

It's almost an embarrassment of riches on defense right now. The challenge for Bowles won't necessarily be who to play....but who NOT to play. On virtually every defensive snap the Jets will have AT LEAST one or two players on the sideline who would start for another NFL team. Bowles also likes to play 5 DBs quite often. I think that's a big reason we signed Skrine who was often a starter at CB2 in Cleveland opposite Joe Haden. As the 3rd/nickel/slot CB he's in an even better position. But if Bowles wants to put S Gilchrist, S Pryor, CB Revis, CB Cromartie and CB Skrine on the field at the same time pretty often then that leaves only 6 other defenders. Bowles did line up a lot of 4-2-5 last year so it could be the LBs that are watching quite a bit but I'm not sure about that when we're playing teams that like to rush. I'd look at these 14 guys and start thinking about which 3 are watching from the sideline and, of the remaining 11, how we line them up. The GREAT news is that we have some sick options.... Wilkerson - Richardson - Harrison - Williams Coples - Harris - Davis - Pace - Mauldin Revis - Pryor - Gilchrist - Cromartie - Skrine

Pace Mauldin and Harrison will see the least time among those 14, IMO. maybe over time some of Coples' time will go to Mauldin as he gets better in practice. Mauldin will be a situational pass rusher to start and Harrison the run stopper. but then when the 6th DB is on the field (hopefully Milliner) i think thats when Harris comes off the field.
