I picked B. I wish there was a B-... I've conceded Williams talent they couldn't pass on, and while I like the way they addressed the roster with our picks, they're not the ones i feel were always the best option. The pick i like the most now, is the one i knew the least about at the time; Maudlin. I have it a b+ because as much as I thought it was a solid draft, I just was so high on Hundley and so low on petty. I quoted you paradis because now I feel some of your pain about wide receivers except for me it was qb.

Damn good draft, and I love the Zac Stacy pickup. Not going to get ahead of myself though (because this is the Jets, after all), so I'll give it a cautiously optimistic B. Where the hell have you been? Here or there. I never really posted much in the offseason. This draft is getting me excited now though.

A The only pick that you can even remotely question IMO is Devin Smith. Man, tbh, everything they say about his game seems like a perfect fit with Marshall Decker and Kerley. I love the pick. If the reports are legit.. I'm trusting maccags all the way right now

The pick i like the most now, is the one i knew the least about at the time; Maudlin. I basically feel the same way but I'm higher on the Williams pick. Even tho he wasn't a need he he's a great player and kind of offsets the Smith pick. I hope Smith can develop into more than a deep threat. That would really make this draft a home run. Another think that bothered me was dropping back in round 3. I like Lorenzo as a person, but I'm not sure he has the athletic ability to make it in the NFL. I'll be rooting for him. He's a great kid and if he makes it, it will be because he gives his all every play. I kind of wish we just stayed in that spot and picked Owa from UCLA. Petty was great value in the 4th. Can't hate the OG in the 5th. He's a good gamble at that point. Zac Stacy is meh but whatever it's a 7th round pick. We also picked up a few decent UDFAs.

I gave it a B+. I liked the first three rounds much better than the last 4. Not a Bryce Petty fan but he seems motivated and does have good athleticism for QB, just wished we went with Tre Jackson here. I am also not a Zac Stacy fan, he is just another version of Ivory and Ridley but with no burst. The. Edd for a pass catching RB still remains a need. Otherwise what a difference one year makes! Great job by Mac and staff.

No draft will ever satisfy every fan with his "perfect" picks. Question is whether the Jets addressed key needs, got the most out of the draft given the terrain and quality out there, and seized opportunity when it was offered. They did all three. The biggest mistake fans make is to fall in love with a particular player and then blame the team for not picking them. The draft is a game of dominoes. Once you start down a particular road, your choices are not completely free. Timing talent to need as the draft progresses is very difficult to pull off and very easy to screw up by over-drafting or waiting too long. The Jets did a very very good job this year of hitting at least a solid pick on every round. Williams was a gift. A - easily.

I would give it a B+. As many others, on Thursday night I was disappointed by the Williams pick, because he was not a need, but I like the pick now and I think there is so much Bowles and Kacy Rogers will be able to do with our defensive front. We needed a receiver that could take the top off of a defense and Devin Smith is that type of guy. Was not asked to run shorter routes at Ohio State - hopefully he can be a complete receiver, but he is the deep threat we need. My only real complaint is the trade back in the 3rd. Moving back 12 picks in the 3rd should have gotten us a 4th back. We could have gotten a solid RB at the Texans spot in the 4th. Buck Allen, David Cobb & Jay Ajayi were all on the board at that spot in 4. Would have been a home run had we gotten one of these RBs.
That said, I like Petty's tools and if he develops into a solid starter by 2016 or 17, then the draft becomes an A+. I also think we did a nice job with some of our UDFA's. Wes Saxton is raw but could be a solid TE someday. Taiwan Jones is a potential David Harris replacement and Durrell Eskridge is a FS who is probably a 3rd round pick if he stays in school another year.

This draft was an A, the only Jets draft remotely close was the Pennington, Ellis, Abraham, Sparklepony, et al draft IMHO.

Can't complain about the draft and that's not the norm for Jets fans. Can honestly say that I didn't think Williams would still be on the board so I never considered the Jets taking him. But you can't pass up a talent like that and they did the right thing by taking him. I am a big Mo fan but his contract demands may lead the Jets to move him. Let's hope not but eventually, the this line will become too expensive to keep in tact. Let's hope Mo gives the Jets a hometown discount and our line becomes one of the best ever.
Grading the draft is impossible but I will give it an A because I'm an optimist.

That's fair analysis. the only question I would have for you is: which was the bigger need - a pass rusher or a running back. No team can have it all with the limited picks the Jets had, so that third round pick was a dilemma. I thought they went the right way with Mauldin. I personally love David Johnson at around 3-4, but the Jets have enough at RB so that it's not a gaping hole. Picking up Stacy was a nice recovery, although a guy who excels at catching the ball out of the backfield would have been ideal.

I am not a big fan of Stacy -- maybe its because I had him in fantasy last season and he did nothing -- but for the price of a 7th, I am not going to complain. We should be okay at RB for 2015 between Powell, Ivory, Stacy and Ridley, but will probably need to overhaul the backfield for 2016. I also agree about the pass catching RB. Would have liked to see us take a kid like Trey Williams out of A&M who can be a threat catching passes out of the backfield and also help out in the return game. I did not expect us to fill all of our holes in one offseason -- I think Mac filled more than I would have expected in 2 months. Really excited about the future of this franchise.

I would've preferred DGB or Strong but I can see why the Jets went in a different direction. Smith is more of a compliment to Marshall/Decker and doesn't come with any baggage or lingering injury issues.
