Thank you - this is the article I was referring to when I was "guessing" about Glat's involvement, having read this back when it was originally written (except I said "obscure" instead of "esoteric")

His influence in selecting Idzik was clearly detrimental given that Idzik had one of the shortest GM runs in NFL history (at least). Given his failure with that instance it's safe to assume he was at least demoted if not left out of the process entirely the second time around. It would be surprising that he's still employed by the Jets if it weren't for Woody's history of reluctance to fire people - unless he has a completely non-football responsibility now, like PR or something I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying you're guessing. We have no clue how much influence he had in either hire. As for Woodys history, other than Rex he's had no problem firing people. See DDNY's post related to this

Boy, would I have loved to have been a fly on the wall listening to Glat's "esoteric" football questions. That must've lead to some polite eye rolling from the actual football people.
But back to the scouts, isnt this just SOP? New GM takes over in January, existing scouts have been scouting for months and months. You dont bring in your own team to start behind the 8 ball, and Im sure the guys that got axed knew for a while it was coming. Especially with Mac's scouting background, he's got his own people he trusts. Plus he had already brought in Rex Hogan as Dir of College Scouting and Brian Hemmerdinger as Dir of Player Personnel. The guys getting replaced are the grunts.
And yeah I feel bad for them, but thats the life they chose - any scout or coach or front office guy has to know when a new regime comes in, they're gone. They'll probably land in Miami or Buffalo or wherever else ex-Jets FO people are.

Not surprising to see all these scouts go, business as usual when a new regime comes in. Getting rid of Bradway was the critical move, he was the driving force behind the scouting and evaluations for the last 15 years, he needed to go. That one move instantly improved the entire scouting department.

The Eagles and Chip Kelly took very similar actions on the exact same day as the Jets, cleaning some house in the scouting department.

So this was probably a formality - he probably had a little desk in the corner of Heimerdinger's office working on a laptop for the last several months, knowing it was just a matter of time

Again not getting the point or argument. Your quote days no one knows his involvement. Pretty much the same as me saying we don't know.

See DDNY's post related to this His post says that Profootballtalk doesn't know how infuential he was in the process. I said aid he's guessing we don't know how influential he was. im not getting how I'm being corrected.

Macags is on with Fatcessa right now, sounds like a sharp dude, a lot more informative than "its a process" Tanny's interviews that revealed nothing.
