how great is this. "Continuing a whirlwind flurry of wheeling-and-dealing, the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday evening achieved their goal of securing a first-round draft choice, by trading veteran tight end Doug Jolley to the New York Jets. In exchange for Jolley, who started 26 games in three seasons, the Raiders received the Jets' first-round choice, the 26th pick overall. Oakland had been without a first-rounder, having traded it to Minnesota as part of the package to acquire wide receiver Randy Moss from the Vikings. In addition to Jolley, the Jets got a second-round pick this year, the 47th selection overall, and a pair of sixth-round picks. The Raiders also got a seventh-round pick from the Jets. Oakland still owns its own second-round pick, the 38th overall. The second-rounder sent to the Jets was acquired from Houston on Tuesday night in a deal that sent former first-round cornerback Phillip Buchanon to the Texans." and with the second pick the jets got mike nugent. ain't the internet great. once is happenstance, twice coincidence......... What is your point? I said every GM makes makes a bad move. I agreed. They swapped out picks and got back picks along with Jolley. I knew this, didn't have to look it up. Apparently you you felt the need to remind us that they swapped you obviously didn't know this because you said it wasn't a first rounder. moreover you probably didn't know the jets picked mike nugent with their 2nd round pick. if that's not evidence that bradway was poor then i'm not sure what you are looking at.

It is disingenuous to say the Jets gave a 1st round pick for Jolley.

This is just Tanny giving his old friend a minor gig in the NFL so he can stay "in the game" until another opportunity comes his way. It's not like Tanny made him Director of College Scouting, he gave him an area scout job, and in the Northeast region. Typically the Northeast area is viewed as the weakest area for talent as it lacks major programs.

Or think that I don't know what the rest of the draft was. As if 2005 was a long time ago. Moreover, duh, Pouha in the third and Rhodes in the 4th where good picks. And Nugent still is playing, so not the worst 2nd round pick when you had two of them. Don't lecture anyone about drafts, you're the one who doesn't want to ever pick a TE b cause we picked Two under Kotite. Obviously to young to have common sense or to keep inisting that one draft trade when he was a GM go has absolutely anything to do with his ability to scout. But hey, keep stroking yourself into believing you know more than others

So with the point values Jolley was essentially had for the last pick in the 2nd round. He's calling out the validity of your inaccurate description of a trade. A trade down is very different than giving away a pick for player straight up. The Tax Returns Are in Kenya and I both disagree with Jet Nut Sauce, but I think even we can agree that he is giving a more accurate description of that situation than you are. For the record I think Bradaway is an idiot, I think that trade was garbage even for a low 2nd/high 3rd value.

For the record I think Bradaway is an idiot, I think that trade was garbage even for a low 2nd/high 3rd value. my alleged inaccurate description of the trade is a direct quote from espn. now i will admit that maybe the blurb may not have had all of the details nor did it ever compare the relative values of the draft picks but the is what it is. i am not responsible its accuracy. and the real point is jet nut jumping ugly on everyone without any consideration that this is a fan site and people have opinions. some differ with his/hers. he/she can be respectful. as for terry bradway, i did state that bradway was highly regarded when he was hired as a comparison with all of the accolades that macagnan has been receiving. i'm not ready to put macagnon in canton just yet. i have also been very soft on the management stating that we do not have the whole story aboout what's going on. again nothing i have said warrants an attack by posters like jet nut in any way. i remember ray ray 19 from the old site. he seemed to jump ugly anytime one of his jets were being criticised. ne and patsfantx. and since it seems that terry bradway was demoted from gm shortly after the doug jolley trade it seems that this was one of the causes.

Too fucking funny They swapped a bottom third 1st for a upper third second and Jolley. Sprin it any way you want it wasn't a first for Jolley. How old are you?

I never thought the deal made any sense, that Jolley was worth trading for, don't know what he saw in the player. Doesn't mean I feel the need to fuck up the trade to try and make it worse than it actually was. This is guy just likes to argue, damn the facts.

You should, wasn't talking to you. It's a waste of time, you just don't get how wrong you are no matter how many people tell you. But hey, you feel better telling me I don't remember the trade and then tell me to GFM?
