It would have made a decent 2 hour movie, nnot 10 episodes.

It was entertaining, but wow with all the fucking characters and shit. I couldn't keep track of who the fuck what was going on. Mexicans, Russians, the mayor, two sets of crooked cops? And that's probably only half.

The story still doesn't make any sense. It was stupid like I knew it would be stupid. It was over acted, overly character driven (I don't give a shit how damaged these people are and I don't need to know how all of them became so terribly damaged), too many red herrings or shall I say just pointless meandering of the story line.
You had to know all along this was gonna be terrible. The only surprise I got out of the whole experience was that it took me 7 episodes to actually like Vince Vaughn's character and I'm surprised I liked Colin Farrell pretty much the whole series. I hated when I heard these two guys were cast for the new series, I expected them to be partners, and the odd thing is now I'm wishing they would have made them both cops and cut out everyone else and rewrote everything. The whole thing with the Mexicans was stupid and a waste of time. This should have always been about Casper doing Frank dirty with his money but as it always is every single character was too complex. They tried TOO hard. The thing that made the first season so great was that they didn't have to try that hard and everything was very organic. The story didn't really start revealing the juicy bits until around episode 5 where you started being able to see what was going on but regardless... too much character development instead of story development. The direction sucked. What was the point of continuing to show a girl sitting on stage in an empty bar playing music? She's just there in this weird omniscient way, when they aren't even open and there are chairs on the tables she's up there playing.... that was fucking stupid. The song in the opening credits? Even more stupid, might be the worst thing I've ever heard and they should have used the music that girl was playing considering they even used her to hype up the series in the trailers.... oddly enough she was the only thing about that entire series that made sense and made me feel like there was some connection between season 1 and 2.
Just a terrible waste of time. The story sucked. It was stupidly written, unbelievable, and you just knew some of the idiotic plot AHA's were coming like when they shot the queer right outside the building... gee I didn't see that coming THE ENTIRE 5 MINUTE SCENE. Quite a stroke of luck and genius that he just happened to be outside the same door in a giant building with train tracks and shit where the only guy left could get him... fucking stupid. That guy just happened to be there the whole time JUST IN CASE that exact scenario played out? Shit, why go into a life a crime? You should be investing stocks and shit with that kind of insight. Hell, play the lottery since you can foresee such events unfolding. But don't enter a ridiculous life of crime where it gets even more unbelievable by hiding everything under the disguise of police investigations... all over 4 fucking diamonds. And who gives a shit that they had a picture of the cops together from way back when... The whole story, no coherency. They had to kill everyone because it's the cheapest way to tie up all the loose ends. These cops had no one else they could talk to besides the crooked cops? Unbelievable. Especially in the days of social media... this entire story died at birth. I could rail this shit for hours but it's pointless. I'm glad it's over. It ended moronically. The way Frank died was even dumber. Oh well, please HBO don't do another True Disappointment and leave True Detective alone. One of the only times I've been truly disappointed in something HBO has done... besides killing Jon Snow, that shit was weak.

I loved the first series, but clicked off after three episodes of the second. I cant put my finger on exactly what it was but it just didnt have any pull of the first one. I felt some of the actors but not all were just plain bad choices.
Farrell, Kitsch and McAdams (although the latter could suck me through a straw any day) Are not good actors at all and certainly not in a show like this. Kitsch was OK in Friday Night Lights TV but I wasn´t expecting an Oscar performance from that.
In other news HBO are looking at writing a movie to finalize Deadwood on their network so not all is lost.

The only actor I took time to like was Vaughn. Once he beat the shit out the fat dude I liked him.

What do you all think the weird sex thing was going on with McAdams and her dude? Anal? Facial? Just couldnt get into it this season. Did they ever reveal the answer to the above?

I have a question.
Is it possible to have a conversation without dramatic cigarette smoking?

I don´t think Farrell has made one good movie in his life apart from `In Brugge´ and it was more the script that carried him. But that´s just my opinion.

I have a question. Is it possible to have a conversation without dramatic cigarette smoking? +1 and drinking. In every show (Ray Donovan, True Det, GOT...) people are drinking every other scene.
