Why do people think Tanny is their GM? Can you really not see a pattern??

Tannehill's option next year is over $16 million next year. That's why they did a deal. He's a top half QB in this league. Doesn't say much bc there is a lot of awful QB's in this league but they don't grow on trees. Smart to do a deal now and avoid having to pay that option then possibly having to franchise him in 2017 if they didn't agree to a long term deal. The other issue would be having him have a very good year with new weapons and him being more expensive next off season. The contract is not a killer and with what starting QB's are getting in this league it's a relative bargain.

Tranny fucked us in the ass with the Sanchez contract and he's following in his very own awesome footsteps. I love it. Especially after that monster Suh deal. I think he needs to give Tone Time a call. He's betting on tannehill......If Tannehill pans out and is a top 12 QB, the Phins get him at a nice discount Is Tannenbaum taking a risk? Of course he is......it's what he is.....he rolls them dice Discount? Hes making more than Ben, Peyton, Stafford, Alex Smith, Dalton, Rivers and Brady.

Yeah who needs a QB who just threw for 4000 yards, 27 td's and only 12 int's with a 66% comp percentage and is 26 years old? I'd much rather have a QB that throws for more int's than TD's and a sub 60% comp percentage. Makes sense.

I'm sure as VP of Football Ops, he has some degree of involvement, yeah. What does that job actually entail, anyway? I'm almost certain it has something to do with operations and football. My source is sketchy, though.

In the meantime, it looks like Rexy-Rex is about to cut bait with Manuel.

So if Geno comes out and throws for 4000 yards with 27 TD's, 65% comp and 12 int's you're going to want to let him play out his final year without extending him? I'm not a huge Tannehill fan but to argue that he's a bad QB is a non starter. 15th in QBR last year ahead of Newton, Stafford, Dalton and Kaepernick and he's either making less than those guys or is about to make less than

The only player of note that he will be making more money than is Rivers and by less than a million dollars and that deal was made 6 years ago so does that really count? Brady is an outlier b/c he took an extremely team friendly deal. Tannehill will got less per year than: Rodgers Roethlisberger Ryan Flacco Brees Manning Kaepernick Cutler Romo Stafford Smith Palmer E. Manning What you're talking about is new money added to the contract not the yearly avg. QB's that will soon make more than him soon are: Newton Luck Wilson So in less than a year he'll be the 17th highest paid QB in the league. Not a terrible deal.

Tannehill is an average NFL QB If you draft a guy, invest 4years in his developement, you have to see it out with the guy Cutting bait serves no purpose.....you can win with him. Just have to play a conservative brand of ball This is like sunk cost in economics. You don't double down just because you have used past time on the player. Smarter to move on if you don't think the player is the answer. I don't think Tannehill is the answer to any question worth answering.

The people who can't see past their green glasses on this site are hilarious. Objectivity is not their strong suit apparently.

I guess he doesn't strike me as a guy who can play against any decent defense. I think in the regular season he is able to eek out 8-10 wins by beating inferior teams and maybe getting lucky against a good team or two (when the rest of his team plays lights out). But when it comes to high stakes games against real defenses he collapses. This is NOT driven by data just kinda what I have seen of him while following other games sometimes. If someone has better research I am open to being wrong, but I am lazy as fuck right now and don't feel like looking it up lol.
