When the fuck does this contract between Nike and the NFL run out? The 3 different shades of green on the jerseys, the goofy fucking stomach pouch, and now potentially this? Bring back Reebok Decry Nike's flamboyant use of colors and such all you want, but Reebok's materials are downright TERRIBLE. Again, I think this was someone's (read: a fan's) attempt at making a different helmet as, when you zoom in, it's clear the paint job is not professionally done and it's clearly a white helmet with the sides painted black as evidenced by the white "stripe" (unpainted) part on top.

I do want new uniforms and a new logo, but not that ugly thing. We need an updated logo on our helmets, like a silhoutte of an F-22 with a sidewinder missle being launch from it. Something cool. Not just the same ol' same ol' but in black. That sux.

There is zero chance that any military style jet is placed on a Jets uniform. Or any other uniform in the NFL. Among other reasons, the NFL wants to expand globally and the last way that happens is if it looks like the US military is invading their country.
I'm not sure how many New Yorkers will feel about the Jets returning to a plane-based logo after 9/11.

Have you ever been to a game? Giant Flags, black hawk helicopters, fighter jets overhead. So, not sure that it would be that big of a strech to have a fighter jet (a shilloutte of an anonymous one then) on the side of our helmets. I guess NE should change their name from the Patriots and not have a minute man on their helmet either? As for 9/11, I doubt having a plane on the helmet (especially one that looks like a milatry jet) would be a problem for any NYer. I'm a NYer and was here on 9/11 and didn't think of a jet on the side as being an issue.

No chance the Jets just go black. They will likely stick with what they have since their Helmets are among the best in the NFL. If they go with an alternate, I'd bet on a metallic or mat green with an oversized logo. When it comes to an alternate uniform, go big or go home.

That green stripe too.... with the black.... that's just fucking ugly. Couple this with the new uniforms my Atlanta Hawks just unveiled and it looks like I'm gonna be sitting this sports year out.

You can leave the fighter jets at home but it's hard to scrub them off the helmets before the games. The problem isn't American patriotism wrapped up in the sport. It's actively sold as American football overseas. That is not the same as associating violence or militarism. Generally you are just not going to see any pro team adopt a logo that conveys violence or a military association that isn't at least turned into an extreme cartoon design. Look at the Patriots, Raiders, Vikings and Buccaneers. No aggressive or violent mascots. Same goes for the other pro sports. An association with violence is bad for business. They want people to associate sports with fun and family. It sells better.

Black uniforms are so 1992. Even the Mets, the last team to jump on the bandwagon (as well as get off it) don't have black alternates anymore.

Our Nike uniforms suck. Especially the green ones. Something needs to be done.
I think if they were going to add a color silver would be better than black.

I will preface this by saying I am with those against any sort of black uniform.
But didn't Bowles wear a black Jets hat in one of his initial press conferences? At the time I thought it was odd he would choose a black hat. Maybe it was not a coincidence?
