Kap would take too much cap while providing the same things Geno would provide. Don't want Big Mac getting fooled to trading for the "big name" just because. One guy I was hoping we'd look to get this past offseason but looks unlikely now for next offseason was Cam Newton. He's killing so far this season. Would be perfect here in NY. I wasn't the biggest fan of Cam but he's lightyears ahead of where he was 2 seasons ago. We'd be an instant contender with Cam at QB

Anybody think Phillip Rivers & his 20 kids would be available? Lol He & Cro can become best of friends while averaging 500 passing yards a game with our WRs.

There was an article the other day showing his current WRs & it had me flabbergasted. Forgot Benjamin was out for the year. His #1 is Ted Guinn Jr. & Cotchery is the #2 I believe. Cam making it work this season, no excuses.

Connor Cook, c'mon down!
But I think we're stickin' with Mr. Petty for the future.

Untouchable, Carlton, fishooked, jetswin, Tokyo all say no. That must mean the answer is yes. How did we all make it out of the hamper at the same time to reply to this thread? you're in the hamper right now. nobody ever makes it out. it's like Alcatraz, wrapped in the Matrix, wrapped in dootz.

I won't argue with a single critic of Kaep's... he's stunk it up royally the last 2 years.
I'd still see what he looks like with a different and in a different city.

With a year under his belt watching, and learning from the sidelines, what's the chance Petty will be able to step up? He seems intelligent, and well grounded from when I've seen him speak. Additionally, he is big/strong kid who looks like he wouldn't be easy to bring down with the pocket collapsing. When he played during the preseason, I realize it was against the 2nd and 3rd stringers, but felt he handled himself well on the field, and certainly did not embarrass himself. The experts say 3 years from the field.

if the jets maintain a really good defense for the next 3-4 seasons then who they actually have a qb isn't going to be a problem as long as the guy makes smart enough decisions and doesn't turn the ball over. fitz's greatest problem is arm strength. he seems to know when to hold the ball and he is just as responsible as the oline for his sack total. it shouldn't take much to replace him. the other thing is the way this team is structured the last thing they need is a qb with a super large ego. geno should've just paid ik.

I'm sure the title alone inspired new tab searching for gifs to post... but hear me out; 1 -- If it's not already obvious, we're not going to be in the Goff/Cook/Lynch etc DRAFT sweepstakes. We may take a stab a developmental guy, in rnd 2-3 or whatever, but OT and OLB will surely be priorities. 2 -- I find it unlikely that Fitz and Geno return. Fitz will be an UFA and short of taking us to the AFCCG, i'm not over-paying for his noodle-beard 3 -- Kaep still flashes elite talent, but he's clearly shell-shocked and a lost cause for confidence in SF... 4 -- Gailey's system would provide a guy like Kaep with the right elements to be productive find himself again. I don't know off the top of my head, but who else is an option? Cutler?... no thanks. Bradford may end up a FA, but I'm not overly impressed with what i'm seeing there. RG3 is worse off than Kaep from a restoration perspective. I guess there's Drew Brees, but I don't see him wanting to play in an outdoor north-based stadium The only notable option I'd pit against Kaep would be Mettenberger - who's market will heat up prior to FA opening up. Thoughts? Give me Mett over Kap anyday.

That's an awful long time to wait, I 'm not sure how that time table fits in with the overall time table of the team. Stating the obvious, it's a balancing act, with some segments of the Jets now are currently very strong, other units need improvement, and others have personnel plugged in as band aids. The key is to have all come together, QB, receivers, O-line, secondary, etc. It's not as easy as getting a few quality players, or waiting for one to develop.

Connor Cook is garbage- vastly overrated. Can people please relax on Paxton Lynch for a second? Goff may be a very good QB but it'll take some time. Bottom line- this is not a good QB draft.
If the Jets could get Kaepernick for a reasonable price or RGIII on the cheap its worth a roll of the dice.
