The only way I see the Jets having a shot at Mariota is if the Raiders get the first pick and we get to trade up with the raiders.
The Raiders are playing Buffalo and Denver. Buffalo needs this game, Denver is the danger if they no longer need that win and decide to rest some of their starters.
Jacksonville and the Titans play each other next week, I am rooting for a Titans win ... no likely but possible.
Jacksonville also play Houston with Tom Savage likely at qb, they are likely favoured there.
The Bucs are playing a bad New Orleans team, the last game of the season, not a likely win but a possibility.
So should the Titans beat Jacksonville next week and the Bucs beat the Saints last game of the regular season, The Raiders will be picking first.

It may be possible to trade up to that number 1 spot if oakland has the pick, but we're going to have to trade our entire draft to do it. Are you prepared to do that? This team has so many holes that we can't really afford to do that. We're not even close to ready to compete, with or without mariota.
If oakland has the first pick (worth 3,000 points) and we have say the 6th pick (worth 1,600 points), we're going to have to trade every single one of our picks just to get to get close to the value of that 3,000 point first pick.
By the time the prospects start getting hyper analyzed for the draft we may not have to trade up. We're all wrapped up in the idea that we lost the top 2 qbs but by the combine and prodays both qbs may be devalued. Even worse both qbs might go back to school and we rooted for the jets to lose for nothing. Time to kick back and let it play out without getting upset.
More likely is that us and the Raiders switch 1st round spots, and we have to give up 2 players who have already proven themselves. Mariota better be worth that.

That's a depressing breakdown Frank on the point value but thanks
If the Titans beat Jacksonville, Jacksonville beats Houston and Tampa beats New Orleans, I wonder would the strength of schedule at 3 wins affect the draft order amongst the three win teams ?
This will be an unpopular point of view but I would trade this year's number one, next years number one, Percy Harvin and Quinton Couples. I don't see Harvin staying healthy and I think he is a waste on a rebuilding team. Quinton Couples, I don't think we will be willing to resign when his contract comes due in a few years after Wilkerson and Snacks are signed.

I think Winston will definitely fall past sixth because of character issues... it also depends on how he performs versus the Ducks on New Years Day.

and maybe one of us wins the Powerball lottery, too.
Let's get serious here : Mariota(no matter what) is going to be drafted at #1, Period. (well that's my opinion anyway)
It's Winston(with all his baggage) that is the question of where he drops. Not that I actually want him but he just might be a significant upgrade to what we have right now.

ALTHOUGH, I would prefer Cooper...
I would love Cooper, but he's not dropping to five or six. Expect the raiders to pick him before our pick.

So the Raiders would draft a Wide Receiver before they'd draft a QB?

Am I missing something here?
I think so. I think they're pretty happy with Carr so far at least based off what I've heard and read. They just have nothing around him. Cooper provides a weapon.
If the raiders get that first pick, I can see them trading down a few slots with a tampa or tennesee who will draft mariota.
And if oakland doesn't pick him, jacksonville could as well. We're probably third on the amari cooper totem pole.

Don't be so sure. Bridgewater was an ABSOLUTE lock to be #1 at this time last year. Then he gets overanalyzed (in my opinion) and drops all the way down in the 1st. I don't think it's likely for Mariota, but then again I didn't think it was at all likely with Bridgewater (pro style, pocket QB with athleticism and very polished)
