Couple of post game thoughts:
- Fitz is really clicking and especially looked smooth today on read optionesque play action. His understanding of Chan's system is starting to really manifest, he appears very comfortable and its really haloing across the offense. (Think the return of Mangold has really helped here too)
- The way we are using our receivers size to our advantage and complimenting our run game is the closest thing to offensive strategy weve had in ages. Its so refreshing to actually witness balance on that side of the ball.
- so concerned for #19. I know some are writing him off already, but it's so frustrating to get this little return on a 2Nd rd wr pick. Hope the kid is ok and its a gronkesque scare, but didnt look good.
- leo and pryor really coming on is awesome.
- is bilal on steroids? He looks like a different player the past three weeks...

they've adapted the offense a bit to make sure they have some good mismatches with the receivers. marshall and decker are pretty big guys and there's no reason why they should have trouble against most corners and safeties. enunwa is also pretty big. powell is a sneaky runner. he hits the line and if there's a hole he can turn it on. plus he's got good hands. this all takes some pressure off ivory. too bad for smith. they were saying knee during the game.
the defense has also adapted. the dline seems to be rushing better and there are better blitzes. getting pryor and revis backs is a big help. they are finally playing the way they should've been.
yeah it was only the titans but that team has a ton of highly rated players and they can actually play very well at times. mariota is a really good qb.

Do it against a good football team pretty much week in week out and we are in business. Good work though, Crushed Pineapple.

I wish I had been there, seeing #15 racing down the sideline gave me Coles chills.
BTW, that play is much better than a one handed acrobatic catch. NMS gets a new highlight.

Those plays are usually against us. I'd like to add another observation, and I'm going to be VERY gay: This is a team I'm starting to root for (beyond just being my team). I like this team. They genuinely seem to like each other and care. There's always a guy to help a dude up, a tap on the helmet...dunno. When Fitz missed Smith in the EZ he went straight to him to say "my bad". Ivory gets bowled over in the Jets sideline and defensive players are there to pick him up. Guys are talking and smiling...still waiting for the other shoe to drop.. They're resiliant. Even a dude like Skrine, yeah he gets beat but he's a scrappy dude, always fighting. Fucking Jets have me believing again. FML

I loved Bowles post game presser. He was asked something about the Jets playing the "perfect" game. His response: We played well in the first half, and did not play well in the second half. When asked about Mo's sacks (3?), Bowles said he missed a few sacks he should have had. I LOVE it!. Rex would be blowing sunshine and rose petals up everyone's ass after a win like that talking up every player like he is a first ballot HOFer and announcing to the world that the "Jets are coming so you'd better hide the women and children!", or something similarly stupid. Not Coach Bowles. He is firmly in charge. You let your play speak for yourself. This is the first time since they won the division with Penny at the helm that I feel like the team is improving and could be peaking in the stretch run.
I'm really excited about Coach Bowles. If Macmadman can manage to perform average to above average in his drafts, the future is bright.

another week of bonerpantses for Powell Admittedly, I was souring on Powell and wanted the Jets to keep Stacy instead. However, the new and improved Powell is a dynamic playmaker. I have not seen a third down specialist have this much impact on the Jets O since the days of Bruce Harper (look him up kids). What seems to be new is that he is no longer tentative, he is running with a reckless style hitting gaps and holes at full speed. The guys has become a difference maker.

Bunch of interviews the last couple of weeks (by Jets and staff) have mentioned simplifying the offense. It didn't look that complicated before. Anyone notice any such changes? What are they talking about and why is it working better?

I bet 90% of the offensive play calls on Sunday we no more than 10 different plays.

I don't know why anyone would write off Smith. He was open a few times and Fitz just missed him, you can even see him saying it was his mistake. They just need to get on the same page. Hopefully the injury isn't too terrible, even if he's out for the season.

I've had some thoughts on the players:
How bad of a TE is Cumberland in that he gets no snaps in favor of Kellen Davis .... who might be a great guy and a hard worker, but pretty much blows?
Also, high round draft picks Millner and McDougle can't move up the depth chart ahead of guys like Williams and Walls. Sad.
We all thought Kerley was great but whatever he is doing in practice certainly isn't enough to get him meaningful snaps in a game. PErhaps he refuses to block? Not sure what it is, but ti seems he is not a "Bowles guy".
Has anyone noticed the drop-off in D play since Coples was cut?.... yeah, me neither.
How many snaps is Shel getting at LB? I know the staff wants to get Williams in the game, but Shel was a difference maker last season and I rarely see him make any kind of impact plays.
Pryor certainly is starting to look like the lynchpin of the D. SS like him do not grow on trees. It's nice to see the staff using him in ways the makes the entire D better. It's like having an extra LB out there, but unlike the other LBs on the Jets, he can run.
Is there a team with a slower LB corps than the Jets? I break out in cold sweats when I think of any of them trying to cover a RB on a pass pattern. I'd run 5 wheels a game against them.
