No it's not. They don't have a first round pick, because they were caught cheating again. I was saying how there were only 31 picks in the first round this year due to the Patriots losing theirs... Ah!!! Nice! haha didn't catch that.

He could be used as a trade chip to move up in the first round if the Jets trade their first round plus Wilkinson might net them a top 8 to 14 spot that's the best the Jets could hope for.

Don't think a guy coming off a broken leg has much value. That's nuts, Fitz had the same injury last year and look how well he recovered. Granted it was earlier in the season but broken legs heal much more easily than torn ligaments or tendons. He will have to build up the muscles around it but he'd be doing that anyway. Having said that, no one is giving up two first rounders. Not many quarterbacks out there plenty of DL

Jacksonville. Mo and our 1(20) for Jax 1(5) and 4th rounder I can a trade to Jacksonville happening with their 88 mil in cap space and having to spend a fuck ton this year to satisfy some salary cap floor. They can easily give him a contract and would probably be willing to since they get a proven pro bowl talent rather than a rookie or having to overpay a FA. I may be dreaming but I think the Jets could keep their 1st and offer a combo of a 2nd and a future conditional 4th.

why would we give up our first round pick as well as Mo?
Mo's a top 5 DE according to PFF all but 1 year he's been in the league. this guy is a great player. i get he's going to command a hefty contract, but when teams like Jacksonville have 90M to play with, I'd think they would consider giving up a first for a proven impact player like Mo instead of hoping for one in the draft.

Jax is not attempting to re-signing Free Agent DE Andre Branch and have Dante Fowler penciled in as a started next season. How much better would Jax D be next season with Mo and Fowler as starting DE's? I'm thinking a lot better. Will JAx be able to convert their first round pick into a player who will have more impact than Mo? Not likely.
If I'm Jax, I have Mo visit. If I think he is a fit and we can agree on numbers, I call the Jets to propose a swap of Jax's first round pick for Mo.
I am unsure why anyone would say this does not make sense. It benefits the Jets because they have two better than average DEs even if Mo leaves. In fact one, or both, will likely surpass Mo in productivity. It benefits Jax because it immediately makes their D better. And with a better D, that team will have its first winning record in years.

Could someone please explain how a sign/trade scenario with Mo would work? I've heard that banded about on numerous Jets fan boards - not sure what it is.
I'll hang up and listen to your answer.

I pull the trigger on that deal, pray Sheldon leaves the weed and the need for speed alone, and use that cap space wisely...

I found this interesting: It was almost a year ago today that Jets General Manager made his first major splash in his new post when he acquired wide receiver Brandon Marhshall from the Chicago Bears in what turned out to be one of the most lopsided deals in team history as Marshall posted monster numbers, pulling in 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. Now this nugget of info from NFL insider Adam Schefter. Bears and Martellus Bennett's agent, Kennard McGuire, are working together to trade the tight end to an agreeable landing spot, per source. — Adam Schefter (@adamschefter) March 4, 2016 That alone is an interesting piece of information, made even more intriguing by the fact that ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini added his two cents. Same agent that orchestrated Brandon Marshall trade from Bears to Jets. t.co/XSsfcL5Spq — Rich Cimini (@richcimini) March 4, 2016 Bennett has 1 year left on his deal (6 million) and Mo Wilk is basically on a 1 year deal (I'm beginning to doubt he'll sign any extension that's not a close 2nd to Watt money). Bennett and we flip #1s (they get #20 and we get #11) and maybe get another 2nd-4th? Sounds like there's enough here to make a deal. We also free up 9 million for Fitz and Snacks.

Not buying that Jax would give up a Top 5 pick for Mo in addition to giving him $50 million guaranteed.
Now, their 2nd round pick and an additional 3rd/4th sounds much more feasible.
No one is giving you some amazing haul for Wilk. You'd be getting rid of him to clear up a shitload of cap space more than anything.

Bennett isn't going to fetch more then a 5th or 6th. if we trade Mo for Bennett and their 1st, they should be all about it.
