I found this interesting: It was almost a year ago today that Jets General Manager made his first major splash in his new post when he acquired wide receiver Brandon Marhshall from the Chicago Bears in what turned out to be one of the most lopsided deals in team history as Marshall posted monster numbers, pulling in 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. Now this nugget of info from NFL insider Adam Schefter. Bears and Martellus Bennett's agent, Kennard McGuire, are working together to trade the tight end to an agreeable landing spot, per source. — Adam Schefter (@adamschefter) March 4, 2016 That alone is an interesting piece of information, made even more intriguing by the fact that ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini added his two cents. Same agent that orchestrated Brandon Marshall trade from Bears to Jets. t.co/XSsfcL5Spq — Rich Cimini (@richcimini) March 4, 2016 Bennett has 1 year left on his deal (6 million) and Mo Wilk is basically on a 1 year deal (I'm beginning to doubt he'll sign any extension that's not a close 2nd to Watt money). Bennett and we flip #1s (they get #20 and we get #11) and maybe get another 2nd-4th? Sounds like there's enough here to make a deal. We also free up 9 million for Fitz and Snacks. again, i have no idea why we'd have to be giving up our first to trade Mo. Bennett isn't going to fetch more then a 5th or 6th. if we trade Mo for Bennett and their 1st, they should be all about it. Very possible. I did it that way assuming he won't sign an extension with them either. and is a 1 year rental (for now) If they were willing to give him the contract he's asking for, than no doubt we keep our #1.

Just to give some of you ninny's some important info............
Wilkerson will be paid $15.701 million for the 2016 season. He has until July 15 to reach a multiyear deal with the Jets, or he must play the season under the tag.
The 26-year-old Wilkerson, who has been seeking a long-term extension, could also be traded.
Under the non-exclusive designation, the defensive end can negotiate with other teams, but New York can match any offer sheet. With the non-exclusive tag, if the sides can't reach a deal and he signs with another team, New York would be compensated by receiving two first-round draft picks.

We should go hard after Bennett - top tier TE who could go for relatively cheap. We'd go from essentially no TE presence to a dual threat with Bennett and Amaro. Immediately makes us a top receiving team in the league and we were already trending up. One of my top targets for the entire offseason, would be ecstatic if this could happen. Cmon Mac!

Maybe they'd swap firsts or if we would throw in a 2nd or a 3rd.
