lol I guess my next question is does this make the Jets QB job more attractive or less attractive? To Fitz or anyone else? There's gonna be a lot of pain associated with that job this year for any QB that isnt very mobile. Can we X out McCown now?

Great Jet
Say what you want about his play the last two years, bottom line is the guy played for a decade and never missed a goddamn snap.
Headed to the Ring of Honor
The Jets either have to take an OL in Round 1 or make a move for Joe Thomas/Ryan Clady.

Incoming; den is trading clady to us. Brick will be the domino this sends everything in motion. Kaep to den. Clady to us. Fitz resigned etc.
That's my prediction

Farewell Brick. Thank you for freeing up the cap space for us to do what we need.
And people need to chill. He has been steadily declining.
You were a good Jet. We love you. (Except Repulsion who thinks you should be sent to the moon without a space suit.)

Wow. We must have asked him for one steep pay-cut.
This frees up cap space, but leaves a big hole at LT. If this had happened earlier, we could have added someone in FA, but now we look certain to go OT very early.
Thanks for your service, Brick. A good player and a great Jet.

Ok I am officially concerned for this upcoming year. I dont think he was great last year but this the line was palatable. I know Mac says he doesnt draft for need but how does this not the draft strategy? Now u r concerned? Brick knows when to jump off a sinking ship. This season with or without overrated crappy futz is gonna suck. Tough times coming up. Kotitan days ahead. Loved brick tho. I met him when he was a rookie at training camp that year. He was a big dude but seemed like a kid in a mans body at that time. I knew he'd b good right away. We r gonna miss him. Best of luck bro!

It's now obvious that the jets never asked Brick to take a pay cut... they probably just called him to ask him to make decision sooner rather than later.

Man, we've been spoiled at LT and C. We haven't had another LT since Jason Fabini and even then goes back to 1998, almost twenty years from two guys. Not even to mention Mawae directly to Mangold. Hopefully Mac can strike gold again

Does anyone think/feel that a deal with the Broncos involving Mo Wilk and Clady makes sense now?

They probably wanted him to take a big pay cut and he said F it I have other things I'd like to do in life. Good for him.

(Except Repulsion who thinks you should be sent to the moon without a space suit.) You are right he was declining but we have literally NOTHING there behind him. It brings to mind that game at oakland when we didnt have nick mangold...I cant remember what year that was but it was a pretty discouraging sight. We should have been looking for a long term replacement for both of these guys right then.

Highly doubt Brick would blindside the team like this, I'm sure that's why they've been so comfortable spending so much this offseason

Best of luck bro! lol step back from the ledge man....when I am concerned it is usually never above a dull roar. This is not a sinking ship, that is an exaggeration of epic proportions!!! Seriously though the sky isnt falling chicken little, we just have to put pore emphasis on other areas. We needed to address it anyway but I was hoping for another year out of Brick, grab a guard this year in the first 3 rounds. Now we may have to find a way to get a tackle and a guard....plus plan for the inevitable retirement of Mangold. I'm not ready to say this season is gonna suck, that is going overboard but if you looked at the schedule you already knew it was going to be challenging. This didnt make it harder, it just didnt make it easier.
