What a circus. Toss a 10-year, all-time Jets favorite warrior into the garbage, to pay a journeyman QB a gazillion dollars. No wonder no one wants to to play for Woody. SOJ. I'm confused....did we toss him or did he retire? Did we already resign Fitz to a long term mega deal? I've been scouring the news to see what he got and all I see is your BULLSHIT!!!!!

Why are people saying that the Jets only get 9 million in cap relief due to Brick retiring? I thought he was on the books for 13 million this year, does he actually get to keep some of this year's money even though he retired this early?
One name I'm interested in is Anthony Davis, the SF tackle that is coming out of retirement. Davis is still young and is a Jersey kid, maybe he will be interested in coming back to the area.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
A true Jet at heart. His play diminished but this still leaves a HUGE hole at Tackle. I could call Elway and inquire about Ryan Clady....

Cimini is the worst...didn't he initially say it was a 'stunner'? He's almost as bad as the Indian rent boy agents use to spread their BS. A few weeks ago he was trashin us for our apparent bad treatment of Brick. Just goes to show he knows fuck all and has no sauces.

Signing bonus money acceleration. His pro-rated bonus for 2016 and 2017 all hits the cap this year. We save the full base salary, minus the bonus hit.

Why couldn't Brick make this decision in January BEFORE free agency opened? Did he even tell the Jets he was considering retirement, so that they could be more active in free agency? I have a little resentment that he waited until now, but I fully understand his decision and respect it. His timing did the Jets no favors whatsoever. If costello and Cimini are correct about the Jets having been forewarned of this likelihood, then why weren't the Jets a bit more proactive in pursuing a LT in free agency? Who else other than Beachum (signed by Jacksonville) did they consider?

Well Cimini just said the Jets knew about this ahead of time and it was always a possibility and thats why they were looking at other guys as possible replacements. Well that explains why it was quiet on what we would do with Brick most of the offseason. Probably wanted to give him time to think about his future with the team.

Wow. We must have asked him for one steep pay-cut. This frees up cap space, but leaves a big hole at LT. If this had happened earlier, we could have added someone in FA, but now we look certain to go OT very early. Thanks for your service, Brick. A good player and a great Jet. yeah i',m wondering about the timing as well , like why did he wait this long? Clady apparently has a big cap charge too

Now u r concerned? Brick knows when to jump off a sinking ship. This season with or without overrated crappy futz is gonna suck. Tough times coming up. Kotitan days ahead. Loved brick tho. I met him when he was a rookie at training camp that year. He was a big dude but seemed like a kid in a mans body at that time. I knew he'd b good right away. We r gonna miss him. Best of luck bro! lol step back from the ledge man....when I am concerned it is usually never above a dull roar. T his is not a sinking ship, that is an exaggeration of epic proportions!!! Seriously though the sky isnt falling chicken little, we just have to put pore emphasis on other areas. We needed to address it anyway but I was hoping for another year out of Brick, grab a guard this year in the first 3 rounds. Now we may have to find a way to get a tackle and a guard....plus plan for the inevitable retirement of Mangold. I'm not ready to say this season is gonna suck, that is going overboard but if you looked at the schedule you already knew it was going to be challenging. This didnt make it harder, it just didnt make it easier. You're right, it's not a sinking ship, it's a sunk ship. It's a rusted, rotting wreck on the bottom of the ocean. Like an old WW2 battleship skeleton. This team imploded last year against Buffallo. And, they have only gotten worse since. Signing fitz means nothing to me. He is not the answer - not now and not long term. I don't even really care. These seasons are easier than ones like last year anyway. No hope means no crushing dissappointment. As we are consitituted now (once we sign fitz) is a bunch of old playmakers who were never good enough (fitz, marshall, gore, revis, mangold). What fun is that? Who are our young up and comers that give us faith in the future? (yeah, richardson and williams - horray). This team is going no where fast and I'm fed up. We will miss Brick I'm sure more than any of us know. Another hole and a swiss cheese team. But it doesn't really even matter because we've had and still have a hole at QB for forever.

Jesus, I had forgotten what an asshole you are. Not reading your shit for the last year or so has been a blessing. Getting rid of you would be an instant improvement to this forum. They should strongly consider it.
