Tell you what Paradis you really know your prospects, just wanna say thanks because it's made this draft a lot more fun for me lookin out for all your mentioned players. I obviously watch a ton of ball but only catch the odd college game on Saturdays when not workin etc, the rest of the time I'm just searching film on prospects I like but obviously don't have as much factual information on guys I've not seen with my own two eyes. Been refreshing to read your handle on different guys, I'm now lookin for shit on Allen based on what you're sayin which I never would've done without you bringing it to my attention. Thanks, but I'm just a bum who gets carried away sometimes. Seriously tho, check Allen vs ole miss and miss st. And get a beer! ...or don't for reasons that Lithfan just stated lol. We're a family of bums here bro as you know. Lol thats exactly what I'm doin now, sat with a beer lookin at prospects trying to form an uneducated opinion.

Welcome Darron Lee to the NY Jets Let's get to the important stuff So how do we pronounce his name is it just like Darren, or duh-RON? Darryl Slater @darrylslater 2m2 minutes ago Jets draft pick Darron Lee -- and yes, his first name is pronounced "Darren" -- is about to hold his press conference here in Florham Park.

The problem I would have with taking Hack or Cook tonight is that if you thought either guy could be a franchise QB who could lead the team for the next decade, you take him in the first and don't risk losing him. If you don't believe that much in either guy, then why bother. We already have a couple of longshots on the roster. That's where their current talent projects them to go right now, it doesn't mean they can't be developed into something better. If everyone applied that logic then every QB needy team would take every QB in the first and reach like the Bills did with Manual. If they too cook or Hack at 20 chances are Lee wasn't gonna last till the 2nd, in this scenario they walk away with Lee who went where he should and are within striking distance of a QB in the 2nd that could eventually be a pro bowl level player. the thing too is that we will never know what genot could've done last season. obviously there was a reason why bowles stuck with fitz instead of going to genot so there's probably something going on. i hope bowles goes into this next season and gives genot a shot at winning the qb position, and that means displaying some good leadership and a grasp of the game's fundamentals. there's no doubt a better arm than fitz's is needed.

My faith can be salvaged by coming away with Damarcus Robinson somehow this weekend. I really feel like (if his head checks out) he can be Dez Bryant for this team. A great understudy for Marshall.
....a late round tight end would help too

I don't understand the butthurt over Paxton Lynch. He has great size, a very good arm, and good athleticism. That's where his positive attributes end. On the downside, he doesn't know how to play quarterback, which is a problem. Essentially, he's the same prospect that Bryce Petty was, and we already have Petty. I actually didn't like Petty last year, and yet I was higher on him as a prospect last year than I am on Lynch this year. I have no idea how this guy wound up as a 1st round pick. Well, that's not true. He has the physical traits and coaches always believe they can fix the rest.

And this is what I said very early this morning. The idea that Cook or Hack would be sitting at 20 for us is a huge gamble. Too many teams ahead of us wanting a QB and too many teams behind us that might jump ahead of us. If you didn't like Lynch at 20 you better be prepared to spend this years 2nd and 3rd as well as another pick....likely something in next years 3rd to move up and get Cook or Hack. That's a reach, no way it takes all of that to move up. If any team is stupid enough to offer that then that's on them. Doubt Mac goes for any offer like that. Our 2nd & maybe this year's 4th or our 2nd & next year's 4th or 3rd depending on what range you're trading into makes sense. & that's for the

Per Eisen on NFLN:
Jaylon Smith already to receive insurance proceeds of $700K because he was not picked in the first round and will receive additional $100K per pick to a max of $5 million.

That's good news. Good for the kid and one of the few rare things the NCAA lets these kids do that makes sense. I hope he good people around him to help him invest that wisely because there's a good chance it's the biggest payday he'll ever see.

In my small humble opinion, last night typifies why the Denver Broncos win SB's and the NY Jets are lucky to sniff a WC every 5-10 years. At 20, I would have grabbed Lynch no questions asked. I have no idea who or how good Lee is, I only know we could have gone 8-8 next year without him and possibly found our future at QB which this franchise has not had in eons. Whenever I hear about an OSU LB, Anthony Schlegel comes to my mind and that is not good. I hope I am totally wrong, but I feel as though we wasted our first round pick last night. Totally agree. We r constantly making dumb picks in the 1st round. We could have done without Lee and taken a shot with someone who may b the real deal QB we've been looking for forever. Lee is the same guy Idzik or any number of our shit head GMs would have taken Over the years. Rather than take a chance on Sapp or Marino or Lynch we go for some safe boring mope. History has shown that our way leads to mediocrity year after year after year. Nothing seems to change with this franchise. The faces r different but the picks and the shitty results r the same. Fortune favors the bold.
