Wouldn't mind going RT or TE right here (have no clue if anyone is worth that pick).

"As enticing as Lynch’s physical skills and potential are, they could not afford to use their first-round pick on a project quarterback who may or may not pan out when they need too much help right now." This quote from the article is so much horseshit. Why though? Whether or not they could afford to take a chance right now is certainly debatable, the part of him being a project probably isn't as much.

I fully expect the Jets to pick an O lineman or another LB'r in the second round. In reality a case can be made for the Jets to use all of their picks on O lineman and LB'rs. They are, by a very wide margin, the worst position groups on the team. When you look at the roster, it's hard not to agree with this. Especially the LB core, it's a bunch of a unknowns starting right now aside from Harris. The defense is brutally slow and aging quickly. And really this draft is more suited to fix the defensive side then the offense. I think I always hope for a sexy offensive pick and then when we don't I just get let down. But then the day after I just warm up to it and realize it's what this team actually needs.

When they passed on Lynch last night, I thought it meant one of two things, either they just didn't like him to be a franchise QB, or they thought Petty after a year with an NFL team is a better prospect. Had not thought about the Hack angle. I have also read the reports that we like him a lot. If he is our guy, then they may need to be aggressive and go get him. I wouldn't kill them for being aggressive and getting a QB they like. Just not sure how I would feel about it. If they pass on the remaining two QBS this round, I think it probably would be a pretty good indicator that Petty, by this time next year, could be at least a Fitz level starter while they continue to search for the ultimate answer at QB. Agreed. Because next year's QB class is looking to be VERY weak. So I don't think the answer is coming in the 2017 draft. That's why IF Lynch becomes a solid starter in this league and come 2018 the Jets are still searching for a QB that Mac's job could be in jeopardy.

I'm absolutely fine with Lee's size. 2015 All Pro Linebackers: Navarro Bowman 6'0 240 THomas Davis 6'1 235 Luke Kuechly 6'3 235 Bobby Wagner 6'0 240 Derrick Johnson 6'3 245 Ryan Shazier...Lee's predecessor at OSU fits right in with those measureables as well

Wouldn't mind going RT or TE right here (have no clue if anyone is worth that pick). Hunter Henry is the best TE in the draft and could possibly still be there. That would be an interesting pick. He's more of a complete package than the guys we have at the position.

One thing that is thrown around a lot that I find totally irrelevant is that we've taken so many defensive players in the 1st round. While, yes, that is frustrating as fans... it wasn't this regime that did it. You can't expect them to not go BPA to break a streak they didn't start. So far I trust in Mac. I haven't felt that way in a long time.

This quote from the article is so much horseshit. Agree 100% Every QB selection is based on potential, whether they are selected #1 overall or #250. If you are waiting for a QB that you KNOW will "pan out" then you will never draft one.

Yep...pretty much Mac is tied to Lynch now...and it's kind of a lose/no win situation for him. If Lynch turns into a Top 10 QB....hell...a top 15 QB, Mac will be forever vilified (lose). Unfortunately for Mac, if Lynch turns into a giant bust, Mac will get virtually no credit for passing on him. (no win)

Not a big Hackenberg fan but at this point I can stomach it and let him ride pine for a year. Gruden's QB camp basically showed that his later coaches unsuccessfully tried to get him to change his footwork, really messing him up, whereas in Year 1 it was perfect. How hard is it to unlearn that and undo such damage? The whole thing was a mess at PSU his last 2 years under Franklin but when I watch him it looks like he doesn't have a clock in his head and he seems like a smug jerkoff. A lot of successful QBs are jerkoffs so I won't hold it against him but I really hope Gailey can fix him and he isn't shell shocked from the beatings he got if we do take him.

I had Lee as the highest rated prospect on my board. I'm ecstatic that he fell to us at 20. Paxton Lynch? Fuck him, I had him rated as a 7th rounder/UDFA.. LOL Denver.

Which everyone hated the GM's giving in to the overly influential defensive minded coach, but now it's ok
