"As enticing as Lynch’s physical skills and potential are, they could not afford to use their first-round pick on a project quarterback who may or may not pan out when they need too much help right now." This quote from the article is so much horseshit. Agree 100% Every QB selection is based on potential, whether they are selected #1 overall or #250. If you are waiting for a QB that you KNOW will "pan out" then you will never draft one. I'd say that's true for every player. You pick a guy not for the player he is, but for what you think he can be.

What a load shit. ...writers kept shovelling this "the jets just NEED so many pieces right now" narrative down our throats... Fck off. What we need is a fcking QB. We could spend an eternity trying to maintain the roster and fight off age, but it's all an exercise in futility without a quarterback
I really really hope I was wrong about Lynch, cause otherwise Macc just passed on the next Big Ben - and I'll never forgive him for that

One thing that is thrown around a lot that I find totally irrelevant is that we've taken so many defensive players in the 1st round. While, yes, that is frustrating as fans... it wasn't this regime that did it. You can't expect them to not go BPA to break a streak they didn't start. So far I trust in Mac. I haven't felt that way in a long time. except that it's Tanny/Rex, Idzik/Rex deja vu all over again. Which everyone hated the GM's giving in to the overly influential defensive minded coach, but now it's ok I don't get the feeling this situation is like that at all. I think Rex called the shots. I think Magic Mike and Bowles have a much better working relationship. BPA all day!

Why is it that we have to ASSUME Mac is getting ousted by his HC because we went Defense? Who's in Mac's brain to confirm that he wanted a QB or another Offensive player but bowed down to his coach? We begged for the GM and HC to be on the same page when we hired these 2 but now that the pick is defense the GM HAS to be strong armed by his coach instead of them making a pick in conjunction? What kind of sense does this make?

The whole thing was a mess at PSU his last 2 years under Franklin but when I watch him it looks like he doesn't have a clock in his head and he seems like a smug jerkoff. A lot of successful QBs are jerkoffs so I won't hold it against him but I really hope Gailey can fix him and he isn't shell shocked from the beatings he got if we do take him. fix him - the jets didn't draft him yet. Read further. Clearly said IF we take him.

Even if they hated Lynch I'd still rather have one of the WR's than Lee.

I still find it hard to stomach that Denver liked Lynch so much to trade up for him and yet the Jets just let him pass right by in the dark of night.

How does that make any sense? ?

Elway who may know a thing or two about the position - fresh off a Lombardi - obviously saw something he liked.

There's only one left really, that was Lynch. Taking Brandon Allen tonight would help ease the pain... But man. Lynch better stink it up in Colorado.

How many people in the Lynch crowd would be ok with Hackenberg?
I wasn't really anti or pro Lynch. If they took him at 20, fine. I think Hackenberg has a lot of the same risk/reward that Lynch does, with a lot of the same passing tools.
I feel the same way about taking Hackenberg as Lynch. If they take him, fine. If they don't, fine. Just don't move up to do it.
