Looking to replace an 8 year old Barbeques Galore Turbo STS propane grill that's built into an outdoor BBQ island. I'd like to get something high quality and have been guided to a few different brands like Lynx, Fire Magic and Delta Heat.
Anyone have experience with these brands? These little bitches are expensive.
My biggest requirements are quality, consistent/even heat and cooking (ex. no cool spots on the grill) and durability/warranty. If I'm gonna spend some $ I don't want to have to replace this thing in the next 10 years! I'd also like a sear station/burner and possibly an IR rotisserie.
Where my grillin' mofos at to help me out?

Btw, how do you have cool spots on a grill....thats on. Sounds like you need to consult the Yacht Club set.

For the past 8 years, my parents have had a Fire Magic at their summer house, built in to an outdoor kitchen. The nameplate on the front fell off late last summer and as a result the central knob heats up, so you need an oven mitt to turn it. The digital displays don't work any more, but I would chalk that up to the grill being uncovered 365 days a year. I mean, it's covered, just not under cover like a roof. Other than that, no complaints. Thing gets hot as shit and holds heat really well.

Never had a built-in so I cant speak from experience but the brands you mentioned are all pretty much top-of-the-line. I believe Viking also makes outdoor grills. Might want to check those out as well. Living in AZ I don't think you will have to worry about the elements decreasing the life of your grill but I would suggest going with something that is made entirely of 304 stainless steel. Im not talking just the lid. You want the firebox to be a high quality stainless as well. The burners, heat deflectors and grates can all be easily replaced but if the box rots on you then your fooked. That is usually the one place even the high-end manufacturers tend to cut some corners. Good luck with the search. Ill be cooking on my peasant Weber

Good luck with the search. Ill be cooking on my peasant Weber I have had my Weber for around 17 or 18 years. It has been outside all year except when I brought it in before Hurricane Sandy. It stayed inside that winter because Sandy took my deck out. It's still in great shape. I had an argument with somebody who said that after 17 years outside, it had to be a rusted piece of shit. Yeah, there is a little rust (very little) if you look underneath but not much at all. I had to show him a picture to prove what great shape it was still in.

The older Webers, like yours are far superior to the newer ones like mine. The used ones are a hot item on craigslist bc they can be refurbed fairly easily.

Wait, does the OP want financial help buying a new grill? Is that what he's really asking? Need to set up a go find me page?

My parents have an enormous waterfront house and a heated pool on three acres on the North Fork and they love my kids. We go out there almost every weekend over the summer, at their request.
