I have a helluva lot more sympathy for animals than humans, kids excluded. What if a tween girl is kicking a puppy? A stern smack upside the head

I enjoy going to bullfights on acid. I'm partial to skinny-skiing, myself.

Ever have a leather jacket? Nope. I dont even own real leather shoes or belts. Im not gonna sit hear and claim to be the best advocate for animals or some moral standard on the issue. I just think there is a difference between bullfighting and killing animals for food. I know on the internet we try to make everything black and white or put things in a box so they are easy to digest but thats not how things work in the real world. In my opinion a 20 or 30 minute bullfight in which a disorientated animal is forced to charge until exhaustion whilst being stuck with spears is different than shooting them in the head or slicing their throat. Well, from what I've seen of corporate farming a cow/pig/lamb/chicken's life leading up to the stockyard can be pretty horrific. Don't get me wrong, I eat meat, wish I didn't love it so much. And what we do to the earth to raise livestock is a while nuther deal. With that said, humans gotta eat. But deep down I think we eat the wrong stuff.

I read an article that said the little 5'2 gringo pricks drug the bulls and file their horns down pre fight. No sympathy when a beast gets lucky and gets it's own back.
Anyway that Bull would've been butchered either way, there is no winning for the Bulls.

Let ye who is without sin cast the first steak on the barbie....
or something like that.
As someone who worked on a diary/cattle farm in my youth....bull fighting is too good for them.

One could also argue they're treated like demi-gods their whole lives up to that moment, which is cruel I agree. In terms of quality of life they leave the rest of the animal world in the dust. If animal cruelty is the argument then you should stop eating meat altogether because what goes on in slaughterhouses isn't better. It's weird I feel a bit the same way about boxing. When it’s well done by pros it’s a thing of beauty, even if when you like at it in a vacuum, it’s 2 dudes beating the shit out of each other. Why would we find that beautiful or worthwhile? I understand why people find it horrendous and I have a hard time explaining why I think it’s incredible. Maybe it’s like watching a car crash. Dunno. The eating meat argument is an interesting one. In my opinion it doesn't equate. If you are going to kill an animal to eat its meat then I am fine with it. Im not fine with killing animals for sport or their pelts or the ivory or for entertainment. I agree about the slaughterhouses and how animals are treated on "factory farms" although I dont think the people are doing it for enjoyment and that is where I make the difference. I don't equate animal life with human life although I do think some animals should be held in reverence over others. I do believe as humans we hold dominion over the rest of the creatures on earth and but with that comes responsibilities. If we take an animals life for the purpose of sustaining our own then that is something we should take seriously. Boxing is a brutal sport, so is MMA. But in those sports you have two consenting adults acting within their free will. Animals don't have free will. I dunno. Just how I view the whole thing. +1 The American Indian had a good view on this. They would only kill what they needed, they would pray over the animal and say thanks. Also they would use the whole animal not wasting any part. Then we white men came along and fucked it all up.
