Good
Bilal Powell looked quick hitting the hole the one play he played as the defense hogged all of the playing time because they can never get off of the field. Depth at WR. Love Charon Peake if he can stay healthy with those toothpick legs. Seems like a great 7th round value pick. Petty cannot be cut or exposed to the PS, someone will grab him immediately. Something is telling me inside that he will be really good (if not great) someday. This team is not winning anything anyway, he should start week 1 in my opinion and lets see if he can progress. We can go 3-13 with him or 5-11 with Fitz at this point, so who cares? We will draft 1 or 2 more QB's next draft anyway. I never want to see #7 take another snap as a Jet QB in Preseason or regular season. Send him to Dallas for a bag of balls or something. The guy will never mature here and will never improve. I saw the same Geno last night that we have seen for years already - enough is enough. He reminds me of Brucie in The Longest Yard. The game mercifully ended(even for PS, it was one of the worst football exhibitions I think I have ever seen, mostly by the guys wearing green and white)
Bad
First team D hasn't stopped anything in 2 appearances in the PS, no pass rush at all and Swiss cheese run defense kept them on the field the entire first half. Were it not for a piss poor throw by McCoy, the first drive would have(should have) been a TD. Secondary looks horrifically bad. They got lit up by McCoy, a back up. LOL. Did they happen to notice who their first 8 opponents are? Not sure WTF is up with our defense to be honest. I do think that they read the idiotic press about how great they are and think all they have to do is show up and opponents will cower. Wrong. Offense looked sluggish. Marshall & Amaro dropping balls all over the place. Amaro is a waste. Sudfeld made some good plays but fumbled late in the game which imo negates any positives. Haven't we learned anything from being beaten to a pulp by NE year in and year out as to how important to an offense & QB it is to have a competent TE or 2?
All in all it is shaping up to be a typical Jets season of frustrating football and another NE Division Title and possible SB Championship.

And for what was positive..the half steppers. Young guys like Jmarshall, Peake, Mauldin, Simon JJenkins and Burris.. Looking for cosistancy..but every time somebody made a play, they fuckin whiffed badly on the next one? Oh and Skrine looks like a sixth grader. I wouldn't be surprised if Burris is starting opposite Revis before long..the other guys look like peanuts

Hey.. is Geno trying to use the Force to make plays? WTF its like hes closing his eyes when he throws. They showed the overhead at one point..he had two other guys ..wiiide open..hes throws a pick in triple coverage? What the heck is Geno doing and what has happened to his throwing motion? Not that it was ever good, but, it looks like he obviously worked on... something, and is trying to do... something, but it's impossible to tell what that is. Maybe he thought he had to get the ball out quicker? Because it is flying out but it is going downward into the ground like he is throwing lawn darts

Last week my over=reaction in that thread was the DL and the run stopping, with missing Snacks, but I think I am upgrading that to a real concern. So they can't function without Mo?

Positives: I thought Deon Simon also looked good. Against guys lower down the depth chart than McLendon faced, but he made a lot more plays. Maybe he pushes for more playing time. Biggest positive for the game is it didn't count. Negatives: Geno. 4 year veteran looking a lot more like the redhsirt 2nd year man. Intentional grounding penalty was awful -- get the fucking ball to the line of scrimmage and then the pick thrown into coverage. Awful night for Geno. Jalin Marshal. 2 straight games where he has had multiple drops going across the middle--not what you want out of a slot receiver. Practice squad at best. As for the injuries, I saw reports last night that Henderson and Mauldin are fine. Milliner has a sore bicep -- doesn't sound serious. Enunwa has a concussion -- just as long as he can get through the protocol in 3 weeks we are good. After McClendon it really is only Deion Simon, right? I mean with the exception of when Bowles gets a little exotic and looking to put Mo, Sheldon and Leo on the field all at the same time, it's going to be McClendon and Smith and the true NTs? If that's the case then we really need Simon to step up this year and be ready to rotate in there for 10-20 snaps per game. I'm not sold on McClendon yet. They also have Jarvis Jenkins in the mix -- I think he played a few snaps at nose in the first game, but yeah, it is pretty much just McLendon and Simon in the middle. I know you can't make playing tome decisions based on this -- but I also think about the potential for comp picks next year. McLendon and Jenkins are both FA signings that could impact # and quality of comp picks next season based on their playing time. I am not sure, but I think playing time impacts the determination of comp picks. If guys like Deon Simon and Lawrence Thomas (UDFA from Mich St) can take some of their playing time, maybe these guys won't qualify as additions in the comp pick calculation and we can come away with an extra pick or two next season.

We have a team chalk full of vets on both sides of the ball and neither side looks like they give a shit that its the preseason. If this shit is going on in week 1 I will start to be concerned.
If the number 2 spot is that bad at cb we should bring back cro. To the laments of all jet fans, at least cro can play somewhat unlike Milliner and Skrine on the outside.
Powell was good Leo had nice sack Petty looks like he is better than Geno. Kellen and Amaro look awful. That fumble by Kellen was hilariously bad, the dude wasn't even hit hard, what a god damn joke Geno looks exactly how I always remember him. Erratic as fuck Fitz looked like he wasn't even trying. Bmarsh purposely didn't even try to catch the first pass to avoid getting hit.
Now that my rational thoughts of its just preseason don't worry about it are done. What the fuck team?? Colt fucking McCoy!
Can't stop a nosebleed if its on the ground or through the air. Zero and I mean zero pressure. Highschool football games were more enjoyable to watch then what the jets put out on the field last night. Shit was pathetic.

I believe this is the issue more then anything but I would like to see more crispness out of the 1st stringers next week against the Giants... We had some terrible play last preseason as well...

I have it DVR'ed and will watch today. The comments about poor TE play are troubling. I was hoping Amaro would come out with a chip on his shoulder in his 3rd season with the team, after sitting last year with his injury.

The one thing that probably concerns me more than anything else so far has been the play of the corners not named Revis. Marcus Williams has been dreadful in both games and has not looked good in camp based on the training camp updates. Skrine has been up and down, makes some plays, but also has given up a few. Milliner can't stay on the field. McDougle can't get on the field. Burris has also been up and down, looking good on one play then giving up a big play on the next -- which is expected out of a 4th round rookie. Whoever plays opposite Revis is going to be thrown at, a lot. And so far, I don't see anyone on the roster that I am comfortable with on the other side. 2 preseason games, no reason to panic, but it is a bigger concern than I expected a couple of weeks ago.

No I agree completely CB2 is growing into a major concern....Williams has been getting toasted all camp, I like Skrine better in the slot, and Milliner is made out of glass People may not want to hear this but my money is on us drafting a CB in round 1 next year While we're at it OL is a concern for me as well...esp the right side of the OL

I like our depth at WR this year with the young guys, but the CB position does really scare me. Luckily our schedule doesn't really have a lot of elite WRs. Outside of AJ and Brown its mostly 2nd tier guys like fitzy, ty hilton, watkins etc. Not to mention out of 16 games we're only playing 4 top 15 passing offenses from last year (NE, CIN, PIT, ARI) so hopefully that plays into our favor because I could see teams really attacking that weak side. that begs the question...will it make offenses throw more against us?..especially with our DLine...

I have hoped for Geno for so long and felt sorry for him, but Petty just played so much better than him with similar talent around him. Bryce should stay.
On D, Snacks is being missed a ton. Mclendon still has a lot to go to fill that role and i liked his humility about it.
Milliner is just depressing. And Amaro, wtf was that?

Don't mean to ruin the tape for you but Sudfeld was especially bad. There is no reason to hang onto the guy right now. Hopefully someone cuts a decent TE in the next 10 days. I'm tempted to say any TE off the street could come in and be a starter right now. This group is pathetic.

I'll hold my comments on Geno until I watch but at this point I don't think it's prudent to keep 4 QB's and I don't think you can hide either Petty or Hack on the PS. That could make him the odd man out.

Positives1. Petty - Obviously has made big progress since his rookies season, pushing hard for QB2 spot. 2. Lac Edwards - Do we FINALLY have a punter? 3. Leo Williams - On a team loaded at DLine he actually seems like he could be the best. This will be a huge year for him. He's still only 22. Negatives1. Tight Ends - Do we have any? Seriously, it's starting to look like there is not one single NFL caliber TE on the Jets roster 2. Cornerbacks - Does anyone want the CB2 job? I was really hoping M. Williams or someone would step up so we could slide Skrine back to slot/nickel CB. No such luck yet. 3. Injuries - Enunwa, Henderson, Mauldin, Milliner, etc....Hopefully none are more than a 1-2 week thing Other positives and negatives? Positives: I thought Deon Simon also looked good. Against guys lower down the depth chart than McLendon faced, but he made a lot more plays. Maybe he pushes for more playing time. Biggest positive for the game is it didn't count. Enunwa has a concussion -- just as long as he can get through the protocol in 3 weeks we are good. Why the fuck was he on punt coverage anyway? He's not decker or revis but even if you're gonna use him on special during the season why in the second preseason game when you have 90 man rosters and a zillion kids to take a look at. Seems dumb, he's a very important piece, especially with having zero real TEs on this team.
