He's had the best run of any Jets coach by far. 4 playoff wins, shit QBs around him and a shit GM made him a lame fucking duck. He got a shit gig and he made the best of it. If i saw some progress of him being a capable head coach, i'd have no problem keeping him.
Scenarios keep bringing the hot guy I'd like to blow in him. Time outs of the Herman Edwards regime, the beatings after byes we've endured, the penalties, the progress of draft picks despite his penchant for talking up his players and keeping those failing players in prominent situations, the point of making every news conference about him before anything else.
Yeah he's a great sound bite, the guys love em, but on top of that, there's too much ancillary crap he brings to the table that pretty much sealed the deal why he didn't get the Balto HC gig.
Smart organizations leave that shit behind.
If Woody wants a smart organization, Rex is gone.
It's just another chapter in the life of a Jet fan.
And I'm ready to turn the page for the next horror filled pages.

Time to go. I love what he brought to the organization early on, but it's run its course. The team winning meaningless games at the end of the season means nothing. And for those who think Rex had nothing to do with personnel decisions (specifically draft picks) are kidding yourselves. Granted, he couldn't manipulate Idzik and Woody into re-signing Revis which may have been one time he might have been right. Defensive genius? He's good, but no genius. How many times over the years has this team needed to stop 1 drive and the defense choked on it. The team's record after bye weeks is the most damning. I keep hearing that the players love Rex, maybe even respect him (which is debatable IMO). Problem is they view him as "one of the guys" and don't fear him. Great NFL coaches throughout history were not known as "players coaches". I heard a sound byte this morning from Rex from the past 2 days where he was describing being the Jets head coach and he ended by saying "...got (a chance) to be a kid". I bet those words never came from Lombardi, Knoll, Landry or dare I say Belicheat.

Clean house. Idzik is a buffoon, and Rex is a great guy but I think it is time to bring some discipline to this team. Rex also stays too long with "his" guys instead of moving on.

Time to move on. Rex and Idzik both should go.

Cleaning house is absolutely necessary for this franchise. Get a GM who has a background in scouting/personnel dept. instead of an accountant.
For those who keep saying Fire Idzik and keep Rex....if there's even another GM out there that would keep Rex under Woody's orders (like Idzik agreed to), that this new GM will probably be even worse than Idzik. Then you'll probably be screaming for him to get fired too, and bring in another GM for Rex. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Keep Rex. Please. Rex is far from the problem with this team. FIRE JOHN IDZIK! THAT PIECE OF SHIT HAS DESTROYED THIS ORGANIZATION!!!! What has remained constant in all those losing years since that last afc championship game? Calvin Pace?

Fire him. Can't believe people are seriously entertaining the idea of keeping him. And he won some at the end last year, what good did that do the team next season. People just refuse to look at him objectively.
