He'll be back because he's on a cheap contract and there's little to lose by keeping him around as a back up. The new management should let Vick and Simms go. Simms isn't going to be a serious contender for the team and seems to get worse every year. Let's give that spot to a late round pick that we can try to coach along.

He had 8 attempts this year and 31 last year. He must be horrible in practice since he was inactive for most of the season this year.

From what little I have seen he looks like crap and has looked worse each year. If he was any better than what little we have seen then the coaching staff would have done more with him, if only out of desperation.

No reason to cut him, he is young and cheap. Keep him around and bring 2 more QBs in. Get rid of Vick and Simms. This! 1. Keep Geno. He may not be very good but we know he can start and as the ability to win...sometimes. 2. Sign a veteran who has some starting experience. 3. Draft a QB (If one of the Top 2 guys can be had then great. If not, take a high risk/reward guy in a later round to try to hit paydirt.)

Outside shot at Kaepernick? If so would you take another read option Qb?
SF growing less enamoured with Ck. His mentor Harbaugh split so how certain is his future? May well depend on whoever the next coach is.
Not outside the realm of possibility but they probably hold onto him as there isn't shit available for Qb.

I say keep Geno and Simms, bring in a serviceable vet type that can legit start though....Bradford, Hoyer, Cousins if he asks to be traded, draft a qb somewhere, let the 4 qbs battle it out for 3 spots.

He'll be around. He's young and cheap.
I'm sure the new coach will allow him to show if he's grown or not during TC. We will bring in new QB's although our options will be limited. I could see a situation where we trot Geno out there on opening day so brace yourselves....

I know most of you guys are down on Kirk Cousins after this season but if he asks for a trade I think he's a good option. He looked good in Shanahans offense in a small sample size but looked bad in Grudens...but so did RG3 and outside of 1 gane so did Mccoy. He'd be a good buy low trade target especially if he wants out of wash....may not cost much either.

not sure how low you can buy cousins. he's gonna be a sought after commodity especially from the brownies. i prefer the reports that the jets were interested in chase daniel. id also poke around denver to see what osweiler can be had for.

I wouldn't take Kaepernick. There were a few years there where running QBs were all the rage but as each team has had multiple exposures to those offenses they have all designed defensive schemes to neutralize them. Kaepernick too often makes one read and then runs. He needs to develop more as a passer and look at how Steve Young developed. I wouldn't want to hang this team's offense on the hope that we can develop his passing game at the same time we have so many other plates to keep spinning in the air this offseason.
Plus, I doubt the 49ers dump the guy this quickly. He might be out in a year or two if he doesn't learn to make a few more reads.

I think at present he's the only QB on the Jets roster for next year....not seeing Vick or Simms back Simms was just resigned to the PS.

Can they please fire Eric Allen along with the coach and the GM. His snail-pace voice over on NYJets site videos is painful to listen to. You mean the "NY Juts"? The Nets can hire him away and he could do vidoe voice over for the NY Nuts.
