Aside from the obvious bench Fitz for ....., what other changes, in personnel or strategy, would you make to the Jets at this point in the season to try and right the ship?

get the run game going. how? don't know. forte isn't as good of a runner as ivory. maybe use powell more but he gets nicked up and injured pretty often.
stop fitz from being fixated on marshall. fitz goes to marshall too much. not that marshall isn't a great receiver but focusing on one guy means the defense will also pay attention. and the way he plays, means he's not apt to get many pass interference penalties on the defense. someone else will be open.
get better pass blocking. yeah fitz hasn't been sacked much but the pocket seems to close in pretty fast.
run more play action and reverses. learn to run a screen.

Some of this. I don't know why we got one of the top screen pass backs in the league and never throw a screen. Otherwise quick plays to open the defense up. How about a slant over the middle with the young fast guys!?!?! On D they need to rethink everything. Fundamentals like knowing the play and tackling would be a start.

1) Bench Fits and move him down to #3 on the depth chart behind Geno and Petty. Tell Gailey he is not only paid to call the plays, he is also supposed to develop a QB and the Jets have 3 QB's on the roster who are far more talented than Fitz, so he needs to do his job to make them NFL QB's;
2) move Revis to FS now so we can get an idea if he can actually play the position -- perhaps he will do a better job of getting everyone in the secondary on the same page if he is making the coverage calls. This also makes Burris the #3 CB and gets him valuable playing time;
3) Put Sheldon Richardson on the trade market to see what we can get for him. Hopefully, either a first round pick, or some combination of a later round pick and player that makes sense. Dallas certainly would love a DE of his caliber and they don't shy away from guys with a poor personal conduct history. The guy has a world of talent, but a 2 cent head. He flashes but does not always do his job on the field because he wants to overperform. e.g. on a zone blitz when it was 3d and less than ten he ran 15 yards down the field in coverage when he was supposed to just "sit down" in the middle of the field 5 yards off the line of scrimmage (which by the way is where Jimmy Graham ran a drag and made a first down catch thrown by an under duress Russell Wilson). Plus, Sheldon pops off in the locker room. From what I can tell, he is a selfish player, a distraction and a malcontent. Addition by subtraction. As Lou Holtz said, you get a motivated locker room by removing the unmotivated guys;
4) Fire or demote Kacy Rodgers at the Bye. He is a poor play caller and clearly does not do a very good job getting the players to understand their responsibilities. Promote Pepper Johnson as interim DC to audition for the job in 2017;
5) Put Decker on IR. The Jets need him next season, not this season. Plus it get Peake and Robinson valuable developmental playing time;
6) send out an amber alert for Lorenzo Mauldin.
I think Todd Bowles is in a tough situation. He has the ridiculous expectation that this team is supposed to compete for a playoff spot when the schedule and the talent says otherwise. And he can't be seen as panicking. A HC is supposed to be a steady hand. So, if I was in his shoes, I would make these changes incrementally.

Disband the franchise, sell the equipment, implode the jets training facility, let the players sign with new teams. Did u c the awesome vikes stadium last nite? We get met death - worst stadium in sports. Just end it. They've tried for 49 years and have just sucked. Rite now the are farther from the ultimate prize than at any point I can remember. They fuckin just plain suck. Always have, always will.

As bad as it looks for the Jets right now, If I'm woody, I just resign myself that I will give these two young guys running the team 5 years before I re-evaluate them. You just can't keep changing GMs and coaches and start over all the time. If you do, you become the Browns.

Yeah, but u could also end up like the lions back in the day when they kept Wayne fonts forever and then that big dumb GM who kept picking WRs in the 1st round like 10 years in a row. If u have the right guys in place then keep them, but if u have idzik and now Macc and mangina and now Bowles u r fucked.

The defense is clueless out there - it's alarming. The only thing more alarming is that Todd Bowles, himself a DC till recently thought this would be a good hire OH and watching Sheldon run into coverage was priceless. It does seem like the DL regressed since his return. It's been said before and laughed off but who knows, maybe there's something to it

Move the team to Mexico City.., then apply for new expansion team... Build new stadium at Yonkers Raceway..all paid for By class action suit brought against Johnson and Johnson with the talcum powder thing... Call Woody to stand and at first ask him if the company knew the powder was dangerous.. Then unload on him about MetLife.. Recess for lunch... Then keep him on stand for hrs... Getting him to admit he's a moron...
