. For Gods sake the Bills haven't had a winning record since going 9-7 in 2004....odds are they were going to go 9-7 again sometime with a chimp calling random plays....thumbs down on Maroon And the Jets haven't had a winning record in the last 4 years under Rex Ryan. What's your point? You could certainly do a lot worse than a detail oriented, offensive guy like Marrone paired with a GM like Kirchner or Maccagnan with a strong scouting/personnel background. . My point is I've heard almost every post game interview and watched Every Bills game since he's been here.... Bills are my far back second team.....I've lived here since '75... From what I've witnessed I do not think he would be a good fit for the Jets. If he's hired I would support him of course...but I ll give you the old "I told ya so" on this one a few years done the road....and if he is successful you can dish out same to me.....and I'd gladly eat heaping bowls......

I'm gonna have to agree with the Chowd on this one.... Marrone is 3-1 against Rex also with shite QB's.

I'll pass on this guy. The D carried Buffalo, he couldn't develop EJ, and he has really really thin skin. This guy wouldn't do well with the NY media.

If iam woody iam opting out on Marrone' in my opinion Jim Schwartz is the reason they went 9-7 their D is what kept them in most of their games..And Didn't thier offence rank like 30th or something like that no thanks.idea pass

And one thing's for damn sure, Marrone has proven that he can attract a quality DC to oversee the defense. Pettine and Schwartz the last 2 years I would be happy if he brought Schwartz with him because it makes a transition to a 4-3 much more likely.

Who hired Mike Pettine the year before? The answer to both questions would be Doug Marrone. A highly respected offensive coach who has proven that he can attract a quality DC to oversee that side of the ball. Sounds pretty damn good to me

Not this year he wasn't 38-3 and 43-23 That would be a great point if the rosters were identical. I'm not trying to throw shit here but to me the Bills were heads and shoulders above the Jets in terms of personnel this season and they still ended the season the same way: watching others play in January and February. QB, WR, TE, RB were all better for the Bills. I'd take the Bills DBs and LBs over the Jets last season too. Marrone is getting credit for a winning season but it took playing a team that sat their two best offensive players not named Brady for the entire game and sat most of their starters in the second half and the Bills couldn't even score in that half. Do you really think 17 points gets it done if Gronk, Edelman, Brady, Revis et al all play the entire game? I don't, meaning they're back at 8-8. Look, I'm not trying to rain on your parade or be a shitheel poster and this is probably the last I'll say about Marrone if he gets signed by you guys cause I don't come here to talk trash. But I've always liked Rex the holes in his coaching skills notwithstanding and I think he's straight up a better coach than Marrone based on everything I've seen.

Do you want to keep or fire Rex? " thread I was for keeping Rex. I was just making the point that no matter how you look at it Rex was out coached in those Bills games. Granted I don't know how you coach a QB to not turn the ball over 3 times in 3 minutes or whatever the hell Geno did but whatever...

Another one rewriting history. His highly regarded offense capitalized on so many Jets turnpvers by the offense. But let's keep promoting that myth. Meanwhile, this offensive genius did not develop a QB -- isn't that one of the main criticisms you have regarding Rex? Or, are we applying a double-standard. As for Buffalo's first winning season, I hate to throw cold water on NYE (it is surprisingly chilly out here in LA), the team was lead by their defense. That offense scared nobody. Marrone hasn't made a playoff game nor a serious playoff run. But yes, let's hand him the keys to the organization. Really, it was just the defense? Kyle Orton in two games against the Jets this year: 34/49, 468 yards, 6 TD's, 0 INT's So yes, the mighty Rex Ryan who regularly confuses QB's like Tom SparklePony and Peyton Forehead was somehow totally upended repeatedly by Kyle Orton and Doug Marrone's offensive gameplan. It wasn't the great mumbling prick up in New England with the Golden Boy at QB or the great Bill Lazor down in Miami who tons of people on this board want as the next HC. Nope It was Doug Marrone with a stable of shitty QB's and average at best talent on offense and having to play one of those games on a neutral field while being trapped in a blizzard just 2 days prior. Stop cherrypicking stats. 4 of those 6 TDs came in one game where the Jets' offense turned the ball over 6 times which led to a short field and plenty of scoring opportunities for Orton. In a gmae where he only threw for 200+ yards (including a 60+ yarder against our banged up secondary) and was 10 for 17 as I posted the other day. Not like Kyle lit the Jets defense up.

I'm not cherry picking anything. Orton was extremely efficient in both games despite the Jets keeping the Bills running game in check. Just accept the fact that your beloved Rex is gone and he isn't nearly the coach that you make him out to be. And accept the fact that Marrone had his team come out firing on all cylinders despite having to play a home game on a neutral field because his entire team was stuck in a blizzard just 2 days prior. Meanwhile the great Rex Ryan had us come out and look and play like a bunch of fucking clowns after 2 full weeks of rest.
