The burgers at shake shack are good, but it's da bread that makes them really good.

Steak & Shake is good, Five Guys Ok....this little dive place is #1 on my list. Been around since 1918 and owned by the same family. Cash only, menu includes a Liverwurst Sandwich. Yum! www.thedailymeal.com/eat/101-best-burgers-america-2016-slideshow/slide-29Agree though... Shake Shack is all fucking Hype. I was walked by the one in midtown last year around midnight and there was line out the door...WTF? most of the diners in NY make better burgers...

I like Shack Shack. Five Guys has good topping options and fries, but the patty itself is only so so in my opinion. By far the most over rated in In n Out. There patties have 0 taste at all. I do not get the hype at all. Agreed. I had In n Out in California and I didn't see what the big deal was. All the chains mentioned are good, although I am a Fudruckers fan as well. Oh geez Fudruckers we're GREAT burgers. Are they still even around? We did their bankruptcy financing in 2010, I know someone won the auction and a bunch were closed and I haven't seen one since. We took the kids to the one in Paramus all the time. _

I remember the Paramus Fudruckers. Good times. I loved the buttered bun.

Was that near Salisbury Park? _ I don't know what that is. It was on Merrick Avenue. LOl, it's the same thing. When I was a kid, it was called Salisbury Park but in 1969 (I was 10) it was renamed Eisenhower Park. That was our go-to place for 4th of July fireworks. One of my most vivid early childhood memories. _

Didn't JT have a thread on this at the old JI? I think he said he'd had Five Guys about 3 different times. Not sure the thread was about burgers though.
