Robinson comes to the Buccaneers after 12 seasons with the New England Fagtriots (2002-13), including two stints (2001-02, '09-11) in which he worked with the Buccaneers' new general manager, Jason Licht. Most recently, Robinson worked as the Fagtriots' director of college scouting (2009-13) after having served as the team's assistant director of college scouting in 2008. While with the Fagtriots, Robinson contributed to the drafting of several key players, including wide receiver Julian Edelman (seventh round, 2009), defensive back Devin McCourty (first round, 2010), tight end Rob Gronkowski (second round, 2010), tackle Nate Solder (first round, 2011) and defensive end Chandler Jones (first round 2012). Prior to the 2008 season, Robinson spent two years as a regional scout (2006-07) and four years as an area scout (2002-05) for the Fagtriots. During his time in New England, Robinson was a part of an organization that won 10 division titles, four conference titles and two Super Bowls. A native of Union City, Tennessee, Robinson signed with the U.S. Air Force Academy out of high school before transferring to Southeast Missouri State, where he played for three seasons and earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics education. Following his playing career, he coached at his alma mater in 1998 before moving on to coach at Nicholls State for three seasons (1999-2001), where he worked until joining New England. I'd rather just hire Kirchner or Macanagan, tell them to find a coach from somewhere and call it a day. rinse and repeat in 3 years Fuck it we all know its coming anyways......

It's starting to feel like to me the Jets know Quinn is their guy and extending the process to shorten the amount of time of inactivity between the GM hire and his hire.
That is 100% not what is happening, but is what I'm telling myself.

Why would Robinson be leaving Tampa and has he done anything noteworthy there?

Why would Robinson be leaving Tampa and has he done anything noteworthy there? He's only been there a year, but it looks like he's helped fuck up the patsies drafts for almost a decade

Seems like a team that's averaged about 12 wins a year for the last 15 years or so has has pretty great drafts to sustain that level if excellence.

The pats drafts annually look like the 2013 jets draft- A LOT of picks, and not much production. But we have geno, while they have Brady.

I love how they try to make it sound as if the guy played a huge part in their success. The Pats had some shitty drafts and major reaches during much of his time as director of college scouting. This is one of the few hires that I would have a problem with. Give me Maccagnan, Mueller or Kirchner.

That is 100% not what is happening, but is what I'm telling myself. I agree We have conflicting reports about whether Marrone interviewed well or not and unless Bowles totally blew their tits off today, I think Quinn is the guy. If Quinn really isn't such a big fan of Kirchner, then I'd put money on either Maccagnan or Mueller being the new GM.

He has a lot of experience and has actually been a GM - albeit in an inferior league. Pair him with Quinn or Bowles, and I'm good.

I don't know. Seems like a team that's averaged about 12 wins a year for the last 15 years or so has has pretty great drafts to sustain that level if excellence. Tom. SparklePony. Think that's selling their drafts short. Brady is great but you need more than a great QB to win 12 games a year. Heck, they win 10 with Cassel. They always have a great oline; their defense has been mediocre at times but also great at times. They've found a bunch of decent RBs a two stud TEs over the last few years (I'm sure Robinson had nothing to do with the background check on Hernandez. And they always manage to have a great kicker and punter. They might not excel at the top of the draft but I doubt anyone hits in the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds as often as they do.

Any o-line will be great if they are the only team allowed to hold on every play. But don't let facts get in the way of your admiration for them.

You're suggesting that a multimillion dollar company is allowing one team to circumvent the rules and telling me not to let the facts get in the way? Come on! I think your hatred is getting in the way. I hate them too, but yes, I admire their sustained excellence in this era of the NFL which is designed to restrict sustained excellence.?
