It's easy....
1. State a problem.
A. Post a potential fix or strategy.
1. We have not one, but two young QBs that no one knows whether they can develop into NFL starters.
A. Hire a "QB guru" or a guy with previous QB development experience. The Jets went after Eagles QB coach John DeFilippo for their OC position, he was denied the opportunity to interview. #CockBlock But this is a good early indication that the Jets are clearly focusing on guys with strong QB chops for their OC position. Let's not forget though, the OC needs to do more than develop a QB. He needs to coordinate the whole offense. I'm not sure how many guys are available that are true OC caliber candidates AND have a good track record developing QBs.
B. Hope that the Texans lose later today and fire Bill O'Brien. O'Brien would likely get an HC interview or two with other teams like LA and possibly Denver, but the Jets should pray he someone gets into the market for an OC job. He previously coached Christian Hackenberg to his most successful season at Penn State. Hiring O'Brien as Offensive Coordinator - Assistant Head Coach would be a potential dream scenario and the best shot that Hackenberg ever becomes a starting QB.
2. Related to the above, the Jets have no clear QB and, at best, may field a veteran game-manager type that they acquire in the offseason.
A. Build the running game. Focus on the offensive line and draft a young RB in the early rounds of the Draft. Forte will be back (he costs too much to cut) and Powell has shown that he probably should have been getting 100+ carries per season for the years but the Jets didn't realize it. Adding a RB (insert Fournette, Cook, etc. HERE) with Forte and Powell would elevate the Jets to having one of the most elite backfields in the NFL. It would be talented AND deep. But the Jets need to sign a true LT in free agency (I'd argue it should be their biggest FA spending move), solidify the RG position, and hope that Brandon Shell has become a good RT. I'd also love to land a Center/OG prospect like Ohio State's Elfein in Round 2. Put it this way, if the Jets found a way for Ijalana, Qvale and Wes Johnson to be backups because the Jets found 5 true starters on OLine then we'd be set.
