I know that the OC search is not off to a good start. Two names, neither are going to be our OC(even though I don't think either had a chance to accept it).
Now the search gets interesting, in my opinion. Too often coaches in Bowles position often turn to the security blanket of a retread coach in hopes that they can hang on for another season. In my opinion, this is a mistake, as these retread coaches are available for a reason, they failed once before.
The fact that these coaches mentioned above don't seem to be coming here, Bowles may be forced to go out of his comfort zone and hire a young up and coming position coach or a successful college coach.
While it won't be a big splashy name, in the end, it could be the best thing for him and the Jets. We need to find someone who is going to be innovative and offer something different.
I'll be interested to see how it turns out. If Bowles just settles for some failed previous NFL OC, I think it will be the beginning of the end for him.

Perhaps you have not noticed but Todd Bowles is not the kind of guy who makes decisions based how smart or stupid the decision may seem to fans and the media. I fully expect him to hire the guy he thinks will be best for the job regardless of experience or outside perception of how good or bad the "hire" might be.

I don't think it has anything to do with media or fan perception. I think Bowles is just and old school guy and would skew towards old school practices, which I think are the stuff I mentioned in my first post. Those appear to not be options though(potentially), which might force him to go outside his comfort zone. Which often can be beneficial.

Doesn't matter who the pick is you need players to coordinate.

He does things his way, always.

End of the end, last straw, the match in the powder barrel, the breaking point, the end of the line, a bridge to far the final stroke, the last lick... Take your pick. The beginning of the end is long past.

I'M a Jet fan, and I root for anyone who put on the Jet uniform unless they wore a Miami Dolphin uniform prior to wearing my sacred Jet colors . I could careless who we hire as our OC, because when that person is announce, they will instantly get my support until they no longer are associated with the Jets .
That is the Job of a fan .
I can critique the game plan all I wish, but I do so understanding that those folks have way more information than I do .

That's a little tid-bit that a LOT of fans forget. That goes for any team and any sport.

Why would anyone want to be our OC? We don't have, or at the very least, aren't sure we have a QB. It's like expecting somebody to jump out of a plane and hope he finds a parachute on the way down.

Well said. It won't get any better because this team will just draft another defensive player with the #6 pick.
