Can we keep 6? Especially now that we may have a legit receiving TE?
Figure locks are:
Enunwa Anderson Peace Stewart Patton
Do we cut Decker?
If so does Hansen make the squad?
Devin Smith is gone.
Where does that leave Jalin Marshall when he comes back. He played in 10 games, is he eligible for the PS when he gets back?
Can we keep 6? 7?

I wouldnt be surprised either way with Decker. He's expensive but we need a solid veteran to balance out all the youth and rawness we have at the position. I love Enunwa but even he is a bit of a wildcard. We need some stability with one of the roster spots. Smith is already forgotten about. Wish him the best. Marshall is intriguing. I think he needs to have a huge off season and training camp to make the roster. Lots of potential but the fumbles and suspensions make him easy to turn on. I dont see us keeping more that 6. But then again didnt we have 4 QBs last year?

I think they for sure keep 6, probably 7 if they keep Decker. 6 is not all that uncommon, and 7 isn't unheard of either.
Decker Enunwa Anderson Peake Hansen Stewart Patton
No way they would risk losing Hansen(which would happen) by trying to place him on PS.
If they keep Decker, and decide to only keep 6, I think Patton is first on the chopping block.

Sure thing WR: Enunwa Anderson Stewart Hansen Smith (IR, doesn't count)
Wild Card/Fighting WR: Decker (PUP??) Peake Marshall Patton
Sure thing TE: Legget
Wil Card TE: Everyone else
I hesitate to say Patton is guaranteed a spot given his salary. I also hesitate to say we keep more than 5 (but it'll probably be 6 I guess) active given Legget's skills and the Forte/McGuire pass catching propensities

Just looked, Patton's contract is basically non-guaranteed only $25k and only $25k dead money if cut.
But Johnny Morton was his coach so he may be inclined to keep him.
The more I think of it, the more I'm thinking Decker is gone.
Which is too bad, love the player and he's a good guy, good locker room presence.

I think if he is healthy, they need to keep Decker. Do you really want to evaluate a young QB with a stable of WRs with nobody who has caught more than 80 passes in an NFL career. As long as he is healthy, I think they need to keep Decker to help the young QB as well as the young WRs.

I'm assuming they're also still shopping Richardson for a conditional pick in 2018 so we can get rid of that headache and clear his $8 million off the cap.

Good leader, still a good WR. Unfortunately he is best as a #2. He was in a great situation when Marshall was here and he was getting single coverage by the opponent's CB2. My depth chart would be... Decker Enunwa Anderson Peake Stewart Hansen I'd keep those 6 on the active roster and have Decker mentor Hansen, Enunwa mentor and groom Stewart.

Hansen can break into top 3. He's a major sleeper imo. Stewart can also prove to be a disappointment & just be used for KR/PR duties. Time will tell.

Here is a wild card for you that I posted about in another thread. After the draft last night, we signed Syracuse WR Brisly Estime as a UDFA -- and Stokes filled me in on the kid. Great punt returner -- averaged 18 yards a return and a couple of TDs at Syracuse. Check out his highlight tape, especially some of the returns. We have not had a dynamic punt returner in about 15 years since Santana Moss. Potentially, this kid could be a huge asset in the return game. I will be rooting for him this summer.

The only receivers guaranteed their locker is Anderson, Enunwa Stewart and Hansen. Decker I would assume is probably going to be here.
Peake/Patton/Marshall etc are all fighting for maybe 1 spot.
