The only receivers guaranteed their locker is Anderson, Enunwa Stewart and Hansen. Decker I would assume is probably going to be here. Peake/Patton/Marshall etc are all fighting for maybe 1 spot. It's weird but I think Peake could end up being a player. _

I don't know. I think if he is healthy, they need to keep Decker. Do you really want to evaluate a young QB with a stable of WRs with nobody who has caught more than 80 passes in an NFL career. As long as he is healthy, I think they need to keep Decker to help the young QB as well as the young WRs. I'd absolutely keep Decker. One of the only veteran's in the WR meeting room. Good leader, still a good WR. Unfortunately he is best as a #2. He was in a great situation when Marshall was here and he was getting single coverage by the opponent's CB2. My depth chart would be... Decker Enunwa Anderson Peake Stewart Hansen I'd keep those 6 on the active roster and have Decker mentor Hansen, Enunwa mentor and groom Stewart. Odd thing is that assuming Quincy keeps getting better (solid question mark how much impact Marshall was having on him as a role model in play?), thats actually an interesting receiving corps... Still leagues better than what Geno threw to and Sanchez had at the end. Curious how Morton will impact them given his roles developing solid receivers for NO.

Im guessing they keep 6:
Decker Enunwa Anderson Stewart Hansen Peake/Patton fighting for that last spot.
Marshall's suspension gives them a month into the season to figure out what to do with him?

Peake is going to be the surprise of this team imo. Anderson got more ops and more press but Peake looked like a Wr when he was out there as far as running routes and such.
Devin Smith is gone, Jalin Marshall is gone, I'd be surprised if patton makes it.

Here is a wild card for you that I posted about in another thread. After the draft last night, we signed Syracuse WR Brisly Estime as a UDFA -- and Stokes filled me in on the kid. Great punt returner -- averaged 18 yards a return and a couple of TDs at Syracuse. Check out his highlight tape, especially some of the returns. We have not had a dynamic punt returner in about 15 years since Santana Moss. Potentially, this kid could be a huge asset in the return game. I will be rooting for him this summer. Well, that settles it. If this guy doesn't solve all our return issues then I'm banning JStokes for a year. You better not fucking let us down with this kid, Stokes!

Devin Smith is gone, Jalin Marshall is gone, I'd be surprised if patton makes it. Those are the exact 3 I'd lean towards parting ways with. Smith is unreliable and unavailable physically. The Dee Milliner of WRs. Marshall is a knucklehead who flashes on occasion but has fumble-itis and would be a complete JAG on any team not the Jets. Patton is okay but Meh. He seems like a placeholder. The two rookies need to come in and show that it's safe to send guys like Patton and Marshall packing.

Always root for a kid like this, but can he get on the field as a WR, or do you carry him as a return specialist in addition to, say, your other six WRs?

Being realistic, he probably does not make the team unless he completely lights it up in the preseason as a return man. I have no idea if he has any kind of NFL level skiills as a WR.

I think in 2 years, our WR corp is going to be:
starting WR: Hansen and Peake
H-Back/chess piece: Enunwa
slot: Stewart
4th receiver/deep threat: Anderson.

He seems to scream Practice Squad candidate. Didn't the Jets also sign a highly sought after UDFA in WR Marks? What are they planning to do with all these guys? (rhetorical question) I guess they're really trying to create competition at the bottom of the roster and see what they can churn up. The RB they drafted is also supposedly a return specialist. The more I think about it there does seem to be some writing on the wall for Marshall. Similar to Calvin Pryor, the Jets not only drafted 2 WRs early in the Draft, they drafted and signed UDFAs who seem best poised to fight for punt/kick return duty. I could argue that this Draft was as bad or worse for Jalin Marshall than it was for Calvin Pryor.

That means all of those guys stick and Maccagnan will have completely flipped the WR roster. If we're starting a 4th and 7th round pick at WR1 and WR2 by 2019 that would be great.
