Ok, draft is over. There will obviously be changes over the next few months but as it stands right now, what do you think the 2017 Jets record will be?
The Jets home games are in bold:

8-8. Flirt with playoff spot last few weeks, fall short.
Jets perform well with zero expectations for the season.
And then 8-8 puts them picking 14th overall, missing out on any potential franchise QB in next years draft.
/endthread.

This is the year I'm completely thrilled to see that prediction. This is a rebuilding team on a multi-year journey to build a competitive roster. No more band-aids and aging veterans. I'd rather have 2 wins than 6 in 2017.

Man, it is hard to ID wins in that schedule.
I'd bet the farm on the over for the browns at 4 games.

Is it possible that the jets goal was to add talent only at positions that were the least likely to increase this season's win total?

At most I see 4 wins. Jags, Browns, Dolphins, and maybe Chargers.
But those could very well go the other way. Those are just ones we stand a chance with the other team screwing up worse.

at first I thought 3 or 4 wins at the most. But after the draft I've got a slightly different feeling. Defense is more firmed up ... receivers, including TE have potential ... so it depends on Hackenberg. That is, if he takes over after a few games, and looks like he'll be the QB of the future, they may win 6 or 7 in 2017.

Assuming Hack or Petty are playing, 8-8 with this schedule and roster, we may have already found a franchise QB.
