We raise money each year here in Buffalo at the annual "Ride for Roswell" (Roswell Park Cancer Institute) in my Sons Honor...a 3 time cancer fighter like Scott...I know what his family went through and what yours did too....it brings back alot of painful memories...and I'm really sorry about the loss you had at such a young age..... RIP Son...1985-2013.....and go Cowboys....that's for my boy.... I'm sorry for your loss, too. Yes, there are painful memories but there are good ones, too. And it's wonderful that you're raising money Roswell. I'm not a big Cowboy fan, having grown up in a Giants household and experiencing some obnoxious Dallas fans down here. But I'll cheer them on today.

Grew up watching him, Kenny and Rich. ESPN was awesome back in those days.

Rest in Peace, Stuart, way too young to go My dad died when he was only 49 and I was 11, and it is devastating as a child. I cherish what few memories I have of my dad, but something like that changes you. At least, there is grief counseling and other support, but it's still an awful tragedy for them. My thoughts go out to Stuart's family. Oh, and cancer sucks! Lost my Mom when I was 13 to Cervical cancer. She was only 52 years old. I agree with everything you said. I'm so sorry for your loss at such a young age as well. May our parents rest in peace. Cancer blows. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. Thanks, may she rest in peace, too.

i know he had a lazy eye but what does that have tondo with the jets? From his wiki Eye injury Scott was injured when hit in the face by a football during a New York Jets mini-camp on April 3, 2002,[5] while filming a special for ESPN. He underwent surgery that night and was out of work for a few months. Afterward he suffered from ptosis, or drooping of the eyelid. Fuckin Jets! RIP, one of the good guys, grew up with him like so many others watching Sportscenter in the 90s. Rich Eisen breaking down was tough to watch, he leveraged his work with Scott to his dream job. Sad day.

Sad day. We're about the same age then - I grew up watching sportscenter during those years too. Heard many "as cool as the other side of the pillow" references during those years. Eisen did a nice tribute to him today.

Sad news, Stuart was one of the only tolerable ones on ESPN. He was good. Goodnight sweet prince.

That totally sucks. Does anyone know, was he off the air for the last couple months or was he on very recently? He hasn't been on in a while, which likely was an indication that his condition was worsening. RIP, Stu. Fuck cancer.
