Gregg Rosenthal on NFL.com with the anti-Mehta analysis of the trade: The Jets should be commended for the Richardson blockbuster. They held on to him when the offers weren't right during the NFL draft, then sold high for a second-round pick and veteran receiver Jermaine Kearse after Richardson's strong preseason. Following a rocky stay in New York, Richardson clearly didn't have a future with the team. The Jets obtained great value for him, including two cheap contract years for a solid NFL contributor at wideout. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000838786/article/cutdown-weekend-patriots-seahawks-highlight-uptick-in-trades

Exactly my thought. Things are stacking up well for the Jets to finally draft a franchise QB in 2018. When is Forte being traded? And, if we can get our QB without having to trade up, we will be really well positioned with two 2s to move up into the first round to select a left tackle, to protect that new QB. Assuming we finally decide to put some valuable resources into the OL. I think the Jets, as usual, screwed up - they should have drafted OL and/or at least a stud RB this year to take pressure off a franchise QB next year. Not gonna help throwing franchise out there next year only to get killed.

Anything Mehta related can be called worthless opinion, fake news, or childish sniping.

If we don't see significant improvement from our OL during the year and 1 or 2 of our young WRs do not emerge, we will be putting our guy (whoever he may be) in an awfully tough situation. If you look back at the history of #1 overall QBs since 83, there have only been two guys that I would consider generational talents that would have been successful regardless of situation -- Elway and P Manning. If we don't put our QB in the right situation, we are probably more likely to end up with JaMarcus Russell, Tim Couch or David Carr than a Manning or Elway. The good news is that with all of the cap space we are going to have, we can buy a couple of starters to build talent around the QB.

The Jets are going to have a lot of picks and a huge amount of cap space. Draft qb in the first then ol, ol, rb in the 2nd and 3rd. Buy the best ol in free agency and a wr or 2 if no one pans out thus year. I am more concerned about whether Bowles is capable of coaching them properly than us having the personnel next year.

Weren't they looking to trade him for a second round last year. So this doesn't look too bad. Only problem is the Jets are horrible with second round picks ... Hackenberg is the latest, and he's proceeded by a history of terrible second rounders. And Macc is starting to remind me of the Idzick. Generally we suck at second round draft picks, but Maye looks promising. and a long long time ago, the second round gave us Mark Gastineau and Wesley Walker ...

We should start a drive to boycott the Daily News. If you have a subscription cancel it letting them know that their anti-Jet bias is the reason. No need to kick us while we are down. I am thinking of redirecting their domain on my computer so it won't navigate to their site so even if I click an article by mistake it won't give them the click. I have had enough of the negative mud raking media. yes ... absolutely.

And I hope you read this while I'm drilling your girl in the ass with my big 8-inch fucking white dick Here's the truth - this team may very well have one of the worst seasons in the history of the NFL. They fuckin' suck. The QB is a 38 year old has been who never was. The backup is the team's 2nd rd pick from a year ago who couldnt hit the ocean and will probably be out of football in a year. The offense has NO ONE. The D is OK and overrated. They just traded their best defensive player the last few years (granted, a malcontent, but who the fuck wouldn't be on this mess of a team), for a 2nd round pick that they are bound to fuck up. It's run by an idiot GM and a bubba gump coach. They have no fans and the few that remain are finally and totally fed up and finished. Disgust has turned into complete and utter apathy. The owner of this site (ragu), someone who loved this horrible team enough to start a fuckin website about these losers, is done. They are about to be the loneliest franchise in sports. Escape while you still can. :-)
