In the event both Darnold and Rosen are off the board when the Jets pick, is the fallback position Josh Allen, QB Wyoming? I was reading about him and one of the negatives is accuracy. It appears Darnold, who will be 21 in 2018 has all the tools. Would the Jets consider trading up with multiple picks to get him like Ditka did to get Ricky Williams for the Saints? I certainly hope it doesn't come to that but I think all options are on the table to solve the QB drought for the Jets. Allen has been awful this year. He was a darling coming into the season but he's playing himself out of the first round. _

God forbid...then I would take a guy like Arden Key or the best available OT, suck ass again next year, and then draft Darnold/Rosen in 2019. LOL, this board would go apeshit if we drafted another defensive player. I almost want to see this happen, just for the lulz. I almost want no part of the defensive side. Even if the next Von Miller is there. That's what selecting for so many years has done to me. I would hope they can trade down get an extra 1st and still take the best OT.

Here are the teams in competition for Darnold or Rosen going into week #3: Bengals 0 - 2 Bears 0 - 2 Browns 0 - 2 Chargers 0 - 2 Colts 0 - 2 Jets 0 - 2 Saints 0 - 2 49'ers 0 - 2 Out of these teams, I would speculate the following The Bengals have Andy Dalton, but they could choose to upgrade and launch him for Darnold or Rosen; The Bears might not go for a QB since they took Trubieski in the last draft; The Browns would take Darnold or Rosen in a heartbeat; The Chargers would likely take Darnold or Rosen as the heir apparent to Phillip Rivers; The Colts have Luck, but there are rumors he wants out of Indy, so it's toss a coin on them drafting a QB; The Jets would take either Darnold or Rosen without hesitation; The Saints would likely draft Darnold or Rosen as the heir apparent to Drew Brees; and The 49'ers would take either Darnold or Rosen as their first pick in the draft. Agree but of all those teams, the only real contender for spots 1 and 2 besides us is SF, Indy (if Luck never comes back-yesterday would have been a huge win), Browns and maybe Chicago. We just need to be in the top 2. _ Maybe add the G-men to 0 - 2 with the Monday Night game still in progress. They wouldn't replace their over rated Eli would they? Realistically, they will not be in the hunt for the 1st pick.

After seeing the product on the field this year, I'm starting to think that we are likely to be pretty bad next year, even if we do have Darnold or Rosen. I would be fine with that, I'm actually enjoying the games this season now that I have no expectations. Some of you may remember, but I posted an article in March or April from Tony Pauline. Tony said that he spoke to a team insider and the feeling was that the team was 2-3 years away from competing. This sounds like a pretty legitimate forecast.

If we get Darnold or Rosen I have no problem being awful again next year with more high draft picks and hopefully an offensive minded FO making those picks. Set us up for a decade. Get it done TanidzMac. _

This is the weekend when we separate the tank drivers from the women. It's a metaphor, go with it.
We were dealt a nasty blow last night with SF loosing [sic] to what we all thought was a bad Rams team although apparently they aren't that bad.
But the 9ers still have the Colts, Chicago and Jax. We need a win or 2 there.
Cleveland v Indy this week is huge. A Browns win would be outstanding because Luck has got to come back at some point and win a game or two.
But our margin is getting slimmer.
We can NOT afford a win this weekend. A loss at home would be doubly sweet. Maybe it'll be hot and the Fins will be more acclimated? Maybe Ajaiyia runs for a buck 50 on us. Maybe Cutler finally cares and plays up to his talent level. Maybe Bowles is just a moron. GFY I don't know.
But make no mistake.
We can NOT win this week.

i cannot for the life of me root against the Jets. especially against the fish. If they lose, they lose. great...we're better off. But I just can't. Its not about rooting for them to lose. Its about rooting for them to win a Super Bowl. I was 7 years old the last time. I know that I watched the game with my dad, but I can barely remember the game itself. This will be 49 long years, waiting for a return trip. I want to see them play for a championship at least one more time and this time I want to enjoy it with my son -- that is all that matters. They are not getting back there this year, so what is going to get them closer to that long overdue return trip. A meaningless win in a 4 or 5 win season, or another L in a 14 - 16 loss season. Give me the L and the 14+ losses to get me just little closer to a franchise QB that we have been searching for since the 70s.
