I am seriously trying to bite my tongue (control my typing) but I am seeing an increasing likelihood that there is no way we upgrade the head coach position from 2014 to 2015. If Quinn is now turning sour on the Jets because of either Tannenbaum or Carroll, Marrone did not interview well, and Bowles may be leaning towards Atlanta or Chicago, then we are clearly heading towards tier 2 and tier 3 candidates for HC. I think we are going to look back and realize that we fired a guy we simply got tired of, and we had to fire in order to get a high-quality GM. If we do not end up with an excellent GM or a coach that is at least on par with Rex Ryan, this off-season will once again be a colossal fuck up. I am not trying to jump the gun but we have to look forward at some possible outcomes here. I think you are def jumping the gun. Let things play out in a couple of days here then you can stew. No doubt I am. Fortunately, I'm not Nostradamus either so I have to hope that this all turns out be nothing and we land the perfect GM-HC combination for this team at this time. It's just been frustrating watching former Jets come back to bite us in the ass. The fact that there are at least 5 recent guys from our secondary in the playoffs is driving me nuts as well....watching Cromartie, Revis, Landry, Ihedighbo, and even Josh Bush in the playoffs while we had to compete with guys like Darrin Walls and Phillip Adams just has me shaking my head. Heaven forbid that 2 former Jets coaches (Belidick, Carroll) face off in the Super Bowl, sporting 4 rings between them already. We seem to keep the crap and lose some decent talent. Common Woody! You gotta nail this.

After tomorrow (Bowles, Reich), are there any more interviews lined up? Hopefully we pull the trigger before the weekend.

This Quinn isn't going to bail on the Jets if he wants to be here just because fucking Tanny represents him. Besides, Tanny isn't going to be representing him anymore come February regardless. Hell, the guy just interviewed for the HC job like 3 days ago. You don't think Tanny already knew he was on the verge of getting a deal done with Miami 72 hours ago? Besides, the Jets might be Quinn's #1 choice for all the hell we know. The guy is from Morristown. He can see Metlife from his backyard for fuck sake. It might be extremely appealing to the guy to take over the HC job for a team in his hometown who he has past coaching experience with. Especially a guy who made his bones as a DL coach and would be inheriting Wilkerson, Richardson, Snacks and Coples. Not to mention the $50+ million we're sitting on, a Top 6 pick, and the willingness to pair him with a GM that he's comfortable with.

I figured as much Quinn will be the next HC IMO unless Bowles totally blows the Jets away tomorrow.

I'm impressed that Tanny was able to convince someone that he should be placed in charge of a football team.

This is one of the best lines: "If this is true then we've officially become the Oakland Raiders of the east"

@profootballtalk 1m1 minute ago PFT confirms FOX report Mike Tannenbaum is heading to Dolphins. He'll be the executive V.P. of football operations, starting Feb. 1. An accountant/agent as VP of Football Operations Lolz Super Lolz Lolzapalooza Not sure what is so funny? Like him or not, Tanny had success as GM of the NYJ. He gave me two of the best seasons in my lifetime as a Jets fan. I would not trade 09 and 10 except for a SB which we just fell short. Funny how so many, including me, shit on Izdick (rightly so) but still crap on Tanny's approach. Talk about a contradiction. You can't have it both ways. Yes, Tanny rolled the dice and fell just short. At least he had the balls to go for it! Not many teams can say that or claim to have the success the Jets enjoyed under his tenure. If this is true, we should worry as the Lolphins just became better.

I need to get up to speed as I didn't post since Sunday morning (PST) as my holiday vacation was concluding and I traveled back east Sunday night. What do you mean Marrone did not interview well -- where are you getting that from, please? If true, I was not high on his candidacy from the start.

If this is true, we should worry as the Lolphins just became better. Tanny gets credit for getting guys like Edwards, Holmes, and LT for those runs. But he failed in the long term, giving big deals to Holmes and Sanchez, failing on multiple draft picks when he had very few, and blowing the cap. So, in summary, good for a few years, but in the long term a disaster. This isn't baseball where a sabermatics geek can be a GM, you need a football guy running your team.

Tanny is Quinn's representative, and WILL represent him during contract negotiations if he's offered a HC job. Call me crazy, but why in the world would Tanny recommend the Jets to his client. Do you think for one minute he wants to face his own client twice a year. This is fucked up.....Truly, this shit only happens to the F-ing Jets Why don't you whine more? Wahhhh woe is me wahhhhh Grow a damn pair
