When final cuts are made there will be several OLinemen available that would be upgrades for the Jets. Simply because our Line sucks so bad I wouldn't be shocked if we find both an OT and OG at the beginning of September.
Hopefully, a team makes a call to Macc offering a solid OLineman and a late round pick for Teddy.

I just keep thinking at the promise we have with Darnold and Teddy (getting healthy). I don't want either off them having to face off teams with our lackluster OL.

Interesting stuff here from Michael Nania (Gang Green Nation/Turn on the Jets).
No QB Pressures or QB sacks allowed yet by any projected starters: Long, Shell or Carpenter. Beachum and Winters are both practicing this week, so maybe things aren't quite as bad as they appeared in the 2 preseason games. Just have to keep the starting 5 healthy, because I really do not want to see Qvale or Harrison with any significant playing time this season.

I guess we can cross him off the list.

When looking for O line help the Jets should consider centers which are cut and/or waived by other teams. I realize that they want to play their chosen position but also want to stick in the NFL. Teams do not have the luxury of keeping two starting caliber centers and the Jets depth chart currently has Long's back up as Jonotthan Harrison, who I've never head of. My point is, if a young/quality center becomes available after the final cut down, bring him in, tell him he will have a chance to be an NFL starter, just not at center. However, he will back up Spencer Long and will get reps at center and must be available to step in if needed. On the whole, centers are intelligent, understand blocking schemes, have a nasty temperament, and are athletic/mobile. Anyone who becomes available, see if they are an upgrade for the jets O line and see if they buy into the plan.

Very few starting caliber players are getting cut, but cgjet has a point, an extra center may shake loose from somewhere. At least some of the cuts could be improvements as backups, over our existing backups.

So this is either a bit scary or a bit refreshing:
Seven NYJ OL are UFA's next offseason. Seven!
And at the moment, only two real good young players are available on the market: Ali Marpet and Quinton Spain
If we don't invest multiple high draft picks on the OL next year, we will really be utterly screwed. We may only have 3-4 competent OL signed through next year and I don't feel comfortable with less than 6.
If I'm Macc, I'm throwing the bank at Marpet as well as one defender such as Demarcus Lawrence, Frank Clark, or Dante Fowler if he's available.
