So this is either a bit scary or a bit refreshing: Seven NYJ OL are UFA's next offseason. Seven! And at the moment, only two real good young players are available on the market: Ali Marpet and Quinton Spain If we don't invest multiple high draft picks on the OL next year, we will really be utterly screwed. We may only have 3-4 competent OL signed through next year and I don't feel comfortable with less than 6. If I'm Macc, I'm throwing the bank at Marpet as well as one defender such as Demarcus Lawrence, Frank Clark, or Dante Fowler if he's available. Yeah, but the only starter not under contract is Carpenter. The rest of the guys who will be FAs are all jags, or in some cases not even good enough to be jags (Dozier, Gradkowski, Swanson, Harrison, Ijalana, Qvale). Those guys are easily replaceable. We will be in the market for a starting guard and LT to replace Beachum who is FA after 2019. Guard should be available in FA and hopefully we draft a T in the 1st or 3rd that will be ready to start in 2020, but act as depth for 2019.
The position group that really worries me for 2019 is WR. All of our top 4 guys (Enunwa, Kearse, Pryor and Anderson) are FA. The only WRs currently under contract for 2019 are Stewart, Hansen and Peake. Anderson is restricted FA, so he likely will be back (barring any unforeseen off field buttheadedness), but the other three are all unrestricted FA. I would hate to see almost all of Darnold's receivers turn over from year 1 to year 2.

The WRs we have are jags - we won't lose much if any one of them bolts.

Take a flyer on the LT from Philly if he gets cut.

Macc is a dick.
BUT if Darnold continues to develop into what we pray he will be, Macc will get worshipped.

When healthy, Winters is a very solid guard.
